Your next point is strange, GS has been one of the finest back rowers in the NRL for years at a level above FP and a different league to SM and MM couldn't have laced his boots on NRL form. At his best DT is quality, he hits anywhere near that form he can play at and it could be frightening, JH is no mug either, another player I like, wish we had him.
Snead ain't reached anywhere near the level he was at Cas, which to me suggests the coaching which there lies another issue you guys look to have.
Hull are one of the hardest teams in the league to predict a finishing position for in my opinion. You have signed some established quality players like Pritchard and Taylor who undoubtedly will be leading players in their positions in Super League. You also have a batch of youngsters who will be better for last seasons experience. Abdul and Logan could potentially take the league by storm. On the flip side you have lost a lot of try's and ball playing ability in Lineham, Rankin and Westerman. They will take some replacing. There are question marks over the ability of Pryce and Ellis' ability to reach their former levels and also a lack of depth at 7 and 9. I'm not sure what the plan would be if you lost Sneyd and Houghton for any period of time. What is for certain is that 2016 will be the usual rollercoaster of emotions at both sides of the river and I wouldn't be surprised if come rounds 22/23 it is the pair of us battling for the final spot in the 8.

Fair enough. The point around depth in the halves is key. That said we're not unique in this respect.

Leeds lost to Wakey so maybe we can take Leeds' finishing place ?

Lineham was a liability in defence, costing us time and time again down that right. Rankin wasn't top class at either 6 or 1, but played with a passion that clouded a lot of peoples opinions on his ability. I'm a massive fan of Westerman and his work rate and defence will be difficult to replace (we won't IMO) but the fact was that things got over complicated with Westy & Sneyd trying to do similar roles, Joe's departure should help Sneyd. Abdull can replace Sneyd if injured, but you're right about Houghton, if we lose him for any length of time we're screwed, Washy is a below average 9 and Litten hasn't got the physicality yet.

Like your logic
Point really was that to make the Top 4 we need to be overtaking the likes of Warrington and Catalans in all likelihood and both are potentially stronger than last year. Interesting times.
