You just shouldn't sell your best players, but we've already sold one! How can you justify selling a player who less than 12 months ago was playing for England? Especially as we haven't got anyone anywhere near close to replacing him. Abdull's not ready and nobody else at the club plays 13.
Stupid decision.
You have some fair points, but we don't know what Westerman is like in training or his attitude, I can give or take Westerman, his time at Hull has been inconsistent going from very good to average, this season he has been poor (Maybe he had injuries) I can't remember him having one top game. The question for me is he value for money, I don't think anyone is in any doubt that he will be one of Hull's highest earners, he certainly works hard, but he doesn't make many breaks, score or set up trys like he use too. I've seen more from Abdul this year, he sets up trys, scores them and make breaks, I am not saying he could play 80 minutes at LF every week due to his fitness and defence, but he could do a good spell there, with maybe Washbrook playing a spell there.
If he stays he needs to really improve, if he goes then we have a large amount of cap to play with and a decent transfer fee.
If we get a decent fee for him then let him go. He'll be gone anyway this time next year. if he does then I'd either not replace him yet and see who comes avalable during the season or look to sign a quality outside back.
abdul nowhere near physically ready to play 13 with the defensive duties that come with it.
If westy goes, manu will play 13 and, for me, hadley ended the season really well so I'd play him in the 2nd row with fash, turgutt and downs ready to step in

he is definately Mr marmite with the fans is Joe. I like him but have to say if we can get a substantial fee for him and money made available for a quality wing or centre thats fine by me. Hadley would make a decent 13 with Abdull ready to step in when required.

I'd imagine mini pritchard n manu as back 3. Abdull doing a spell at 13 during games prob back end of each half after the sting taken out. Another option would be a 3 rd prop at 13 for the opening spell with pritchard off the bench and manu pushing into the middle. Which I'd like. I think pritchard in this league off the bench 20 or so min in would be tremendous
So he's gone then? If he has it just seems more evidence of getting rid of anyone who's not a robot. Throwing away talent in our game is stupid. There's precious little to go around and it should be up to the coaches to mentor players and develop them into team players without losing their flare. If the coach thinks he just has to tell a player which direction to run , not to drop the ball and not to miss tackles then to me that's just missing the point. Most of us rue the lack of "characters" in the game and want entertainment as well as success. Quality management should be able to deliver both and harness the talent. Getting rid would probably be an admission that they're not up to it.
