He is still young and untried but he looked the part in his short maiden appearance and we do need to stop flogging Mint, in fairness to the player and for the good of the team. I am unsure about Trueman, but he's an upgrade on what Reynolds has brought and I hope we are scouring the NRL for players like Lovodua, there are some huge South Sea Island lads playing in NSW cup and there'll be some half backs good enough for SL, but probably 3rd or even 4th choice at their clubs who could come and do a job. We need a Motu type of scout over there, cos whoever thought Reynolds was a good option needs to be nowhere near player acquisitions again. (Tongue slightly in cheek).

That wouldn't be my team, I would have Brown or Fash at LF as I don't like Lane in the middle, think he is much better out wide.

Also agree, still time and Evans has done Ok, but you would have to have Fash or Brown in front of him.

Trueman

Lovodua
Satae
Savelio
Ma'u
Fash

Houghton
Taylor
Brown
Griffin/Lane

Would be first choice if we can sign Truman and another fullback. Some good players left out including one of Lane/Griffin and Evans.

I don't think we are far off competing, two quick and creative players away from challenging IMO.

The salary cap is still at the same level a 1999

Sure my parents brought a house that time for around 30k now worth over 100k

Football clubs can't afford the wages they pay hence why they rack up 100 millions worth of debt but still do

The NRL cap was actually less than super league cap 20 years ago

NRL has gotten stronger super league has gone backwards why? Cause of people like yourself lacking ambition for the game

Whilst general day to day living inflation has risen since 1999, I'm not sure club income has. Have season ticket/match day ticket prices really risen that much? I'm still paying just £21 per month for my pass thanks to loyalty price freezes as are many others. Has merchandise also risen that greatly? When you consider those are our only 2 means of income, are you really suggesting income has increased in line with your proposed salary cap increase, because I certainly don't think it's anywhere near.

I was meaning more towards sponsorship/TV deals

The game letting pizza/Eddie stobart sponsor the game for free was a joke and why the sport hasn't got stronger

But I think clubs are to blame aswell they should be pushing marketing/getting bigger deals themselves aswell

But RFL are a joke no doubt and are a big reason RL has struggled last 10 years

And well I remember a kids pass back then been £28 pretty sure it will be nearer £50 now so that straight away has doubled

Shirts wasn't near £60 in 1999

Looks like we'll have a half with speed and decent support play next season

If we signed him at the start of this season I'd have been a little disappointed but so far this year he looks exactly what we need. From what I've seen and his stats he is having a good season playing in a (at times) struggling team.

Yeah I was dubious to say the least about signing him.

Looks good so far this season. Plenty of involvement, will be a big upgrade on Reynolds for sure

just because their names aren't on the list could also mean they may have signed for another club, although the HDM reporter has said Shaul has another year on his contract
