I took that the same way to be honest, didn't close it down at all.
With Smith, Tindall and Walker off the books now, that's probably around 150k available on the cap, in addition to what we already had left over
Absolutely crazy to think that only Ese Ese and Ashworth are left from last years recruitment just goes to show how badly we got it wrong
Okunbor never really got going and his confidence looked shattered.
Walker was decent but couldn't seem to get on the field enough and the emergence of Moy didn't help him, did our medical cutbacks have an effect, reckon he could be Huddersfield bound.
Smith gave it all every game but effort alone isn't enough in a spine position but deserves credit he never gave up unlike some of his colleagues.
Tindall never really saw anything of him, personally would have kept him as wing cover but don't know how much he was on.
Brown wasn't here long enough to pass judgement, the 1 year deal seemed odd and looked like a hooker in the halves, most notable thing was getting the most ridiculous red card in super league history.
Diakhate don't think he played?
Pele might be the one to come back and bite us, I'd love to see what he could do under our new coaching team, there was definitely a player in there albeit a bit raw.
Dread to think how much money was wasted paying off contracts from our 2024 recruitment, hopefully this fresh investment will stop anymore costly mistakes and we can start to move forward.

I know they're not ours any longer but I'm pleased for Pele and Okunbor that they've got themselves sorted at Bradford. Its a long way to come and not be wanted so good luck to them.

Yep good luck to them, Had any other SL club brought one of these two in isolation they’d have probably stuck with them and maybe they’d have done better. it was just a perfect storm of terrible recruitment for us when we really needed short term improvement.
Pele is a raw talent and think most clubs would have stuck with him and seen how it went in a second season. It was obvious quickly Okunbor wouldn’t make it as a SL back rower but most clubs would have eventually used him as an athletic winger and he’d have likely done alright. Neither seemed bad lads just not what we need now.

Don't agree on Ockunbor, just not SL standard, I've seen some highlights of him scoring trys, but also seen him be awful in defence and that's at championship level. People talk about the fact we play him the backrow, but forget he played the last two years there in the NRL and was chosen to play there rather than the wing by one of the best NRL coaches. He was poor on the wing and backrow.
Pele has potential, but had a poor attitude at Hull.
