Whereas I'm pleased we did.
Kelly has the X factor along with Connor and we don't have too many of them in our team.
Sneyd is steady away but you do not get the same buzz with him as you do when Kelly has the ball and defensively Kelly is head and shoulders above. The only thing I can question as with any overseas player is his longevity with the club.
I think they're plenty of others in front of the queue ahead of Kelly for not being resigned.

Because you also had a double lance todd trophy winner and a current GB international as your other HB options?

I don't doubt kelly's quality it's just we have connor as another HB option who needs his hands on the ball as much as possible and more than he gets at centre. We have too much cap tied up in sneyd, connor and kelly for me and we don't have enough quality in the forwards. No other team in the comp has 3 high earning HB's and it unbalances our squad

Guess it's subjective though as I place more value in Kelly then I do Sneyd.
It's unusual that we have an embarrassment of riches in this department if Connor is to play in the halves but the bigger clubs exploit this with the marquee signing rule which again makes it an uneven playing field.

I think there is room for all three, particularly with Connor a top international centre, we have to make sure him and Carlos get decent ball.

I think Shauls place is the biggest under threat.

I just hope we can keep all three fit so that Connor gets an extended run at centre without been moved around so much.

Connor will grow into the 6 role in due course
I see him very alike to Jamie Lyon..has a lot of similar attributes. But Lyon grew into a 6. He wasn't rushed..he was an outstanding centre just like Connor. I think a lot of Connors best attributes are still centre attributes
Carlos is the most underated player in SL imo..so him 1 side..Connor the other with Kelly n sneyd pulling the strings is pretty tasty. Adds that x factor. Think if Connor stays centre Fariamo will be in the mix for top try scorer
We're not a fast team but I think the pace thing is over done among our fans

Connor not fast..not overly slow though
Talanoa is by no means fast for a wing but a powerhouse....realistically though how often is a winger asked to go the length? Most times its getting the ball down from 10 out. He was league's top try scorer leading Upto his injury

Then at 6 we've Kelly who can shift
We're not cas or wakey but we're not as bad as made out pace wise. No arguing we're powerful though..which helps from close and you'll always get more chances from close than long range
The teams biggest issue this year is prop. To be succesful this year several things must happen
Taylor must stay fit
Bowden must get back and be the Bowden of old or better quickly
Westerman (loose I know) must stay fit to replace the workload and handling ability that was lost with watts
I think we'll go ok in 2nd rows..think Manu n mini will be big for us again. An 11month season with the World cup and then 3 week pre season did neither any favours last yr imo. Also Griffin could be a weapon off the bench there

All in all I'm fairly happy with what we have...Will of learnt a lot last yr..kids be better for it..and squad has a little extra depth
