Bit of a long shot - does anyone know of any bars in Tenerife (los cristianos / las americas) that'll be playing the game? I'm thinking it will be a struggle considering it's the first full day of prem football. Cheers

I’m reminded of a tale from 2016, I was at a barbie in September, a guy saw my FC tatto on my leg and said “I went to Wembley and was a Wire fan for the day”, I said “ Ah you’re a Dobbin” he said “ No, I support Rovers”, I said “Do you go to the games”, he replied “ Not now but I used to as a kid” Sums it up to me, very evenly balanced hate, they have a massive chip on each shoulder. Also remember a day in 1985, a certain Wembley date, Cas v Rovers, used to go every year with Charleston Club, there was a single ticket in the row in front of our alIotment, no body wanted it so I said I wasn’t bothered and took it. Turned out it was a row of Rovers fans, also said I wasn’t bothered who won but when Jamie Sande set off down that left hand wing, I was the only one up and shouting “Go on you little beauty” or words that effect in a row of Rovers fans. C’mon you Leythers.

Being from the 78 era onwards, why the hell would i want that lot to win !?, As previously stated the trouble over the years with them inbred neanderthols and to cap it off Lilley trying his hardest to get us out of business, i dont ever forget, they deserve nothing in my FC eyes.

Given the choice I would rather see Leigh triumph after a lifetime rivalry with our neighbours.
However, it's no longer quite the life or death matter for me that it was in years gone by. I'm too old (62 now) to get worked up by events that I have no control over. Winning at Wembley in 16/17 seemed to take a lot of the sting out it for me and I've been rather more sanguine about rugby ever since (in terms of both ourselves and rovers).
It still makes me smile when our nearest & dearest trip up, but it's definitely at a less intense level these days! Personally, I think they will win narrowly, 4/6pts, If that does indeed turn out to be the case, then I will have some tea before enjoying a relaxing evening listening to some music and reading a book. Life's too short to waste worrying about a rival team winning a cup for the first time in over four decades.
Of course, if Leigh do prevail then my evening will be a touch sweeter! After all, some habits of a lifetime never quite fully ebb away, do they!!!
I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

I think you'll find it hard mate unless you get in a bar early with a few TV's.
There's a Spanish bar called Henandez in Adeje which is usually empty during the day. Possibly worth a try but it's a bit far from Los Cris/PDLA.
Cheap beer as well!
It's further down from San Eugenio centre opposite Laguna 1.
