What's happened since has been nothing short of a revelation and this year should mark the start of a prolonged period of success. All the ingredients are there, Radford has recruited superbly, but for me the signing of Washy is just as important as any others, because he hasn't just signed the right players, he's signed the right people.
Yea I can relate to that! I text my mate with 20 minutes to go "Bye bye Radford". At the end of the match he texted back "Lee knows what he's doing"

Radford is building something special with the help of Adam and Motu they know what direction they are going in and there are special times around the corner IMO

It appears that meast's post on page 2 of that thread was the most relevant given the luxury of hindsight. As for the Letchworthian, he really needs to stop digging. Masochism must be his thing, buried alive yet again.

He'd have to be talked about in glowing terms, but for me to be as reveared as AB he would have to back it up and keep backing it up over a few seasons like Arthur did. Though given we only won the title once under Arthur and the Challenge Cup only once that may be harsh. There was far more to aim for in the 80s and with the benefit of hindsight all these years later we greatly under performed in the 80s given the talent we had.

If we loose the CC don't get to Old Trafford and start poorly next year peoples attitudes will change quickly. I think we need to remember how good this season has been regardless of what happens from now.

This is a nail on head comment.
Too many lament to the early 80's when in reality we won 3 trophies of note (League, CC and JPS), yes there were 3 Yorks Cups, but that cannot be considered a major competition.
We also choked badly on many finals (CC - 80, 83, 85), JPS (85), Premiership (81, 82, 83).
At that time we have spent massively on domestic and overseas players yet still never dominated the sport like Wigan did just a few years later.
