Did someone say we've not been top since the 80s? Well, I've certainly enjoyed this week.

You're season has just ended, Clarke has just tipped you to finish top.

He also said hudds would win 8 from 8 and leeds 6 from 8. How he predicted those two based on the year so far is beyond me.

Haha, well it's been good while it lasted!!

Joint top rd 5 2001, we were top 4 all season that year bar one round.
Rnd 2 2002,
2004 we kept slipping up but were scoring for fun, we racked up 82 against Salford and 70 two weeks later again at home averaged 30 for and only 17 against for the 28 games (2016- 27/21.5 respectively)
And 2006 was a very good season but with silly slip ups costing us and were 2nd for much of the second half of the season with that end of season run ending when we lost to London!
2009- rounds 2-5 joint top with Leeds undefeated until we lost by a point to Cas at home then lost to London..again then Rovers at home..5 defeats on the trot after 5 wins then worse with just 5 more wins in 22 games, we had truly gone from the dizzy heights to rock bottom under Agar

We've basically sniffed around in the early rounds then fell away, we certainly haven't been top this deep into the season for a very long time. This part of the season is as fraught as the rest of it wondering if/when we are going to get knocked over...

Not fraught for me. Hoped for 6th. Anything else is a massively enjoyable and unexpected bonus. Why spoil the enjoyment of a lovely run of form with stress about it ending? Plenty of time to mither about that should it happen.

In 2006 we didn't make 2nd until round 23 when we beat Leeds to go above them. The Catalans win at home in round 26 guaranteed us 2nd and we then lost the final two regular season rounds at Warrington and Wigan. The Harlequins loss was a disappointment to end the thirteen match winning run. We came back from 18-2 down at half time to bring it to 16-18. Cooke was missing that game and Kirk Dixon missed a conversion.

We briefly went top on points difference in 2012 after the Good Friday derby win over Rovers but that was only round nine.
