Carney would of had a massive boost on ticket and merchandise sales. Personally don't think this was ever going to happen, if what you say, is what is actually coming out of the club.
It was done. Marwan and his cash would of been irrelevant at this stage. Michaels to wakey was done the lot. It's been nigh on done for a bit. We've worked hard to make it work.

But, is it really worth the risk of causing any sort of rift in the camp in such a big year for the club? Whether its one player or ten, people would start to take sides.
Hopefully this will mean Lancaster gets more of a chance of getting into the first team this year, and look how well that's worked out for Logan.
Plus, it means we can sing the Stevie Michaels Party song again.
All the coaches, Pearson and a lot/most the squad wanted it to happen. Carney is still with the woman in all this so wasn't like a 1 night thing theres other factors to that made the coaches comfortable with it. Other than this incident Carney is generally regarded by those that know him a good kid so it's not like he was gonna be a massive disruption. The coaches would've happily signed him.
Shaul Talanoa Logan Tuamuavai Fonua is how I imagine we'll line up now
I personally think it be hard to get a decent player in. It's Nov nearly. I'd rather go in with the cash spare and try pick up a mid season bargain than fill the spot for the sake of it
Lancaster starting the year on loan I think. Bradford I've heard

Why would we go the trouble agreeing contracts, loaning a player out, then to let a player decide we aint signing him. I just don't believe it. More likely Carney got a better offer from Salford and chose them

I bumped into Jamie Shaul out and about on Tuesday afternoon - I asked him about Carney and he said exactly that it was down to Jordan Thompson and how comfortable he was about it. That was straight from his mouth, I can only tell you what he told me, now he may be lying to cover the fact that Carney just got a better offer from Salford and chose them, but I seriously doubt that.

That's fair enough, no reason not to believe it. I very much doubt it was a done deal then
