I find the whole 'celebrity culture' ethic and the add-ons that accompany it so suffocatingly depressing. It's omnipresent and the small protests of reason in the form of true culture, old fashioned journalism, respect for real achievement etc. is slowly being stifled under the avalanche of nonsense that appears to rule us.

Nothing from the media btw but something ive been hearing. The Radford Watts pub thing is over and Radford is getting out of it all to concentrate on rugby.

See Radio Humberside tweeted we'd drawn the first one 29-29 before having to change it. Unlucky.

Going to be keeping a close eye on this thread. Me watching you, watching the media, watching the rugby. Ah, such fond memories of Beadle, Kennedy and the two Kelly's in their televisual pomp.

Bring it, Rovers chumster. Find me matches in the last month or so for this flowery language. Hurry! Purring's my new favourite.

With the late summer sun shining in my eyes and my red and white tinted glasses super-glued on, I predicted dark days ahead for Rovers. On reflection, that couldn't be further from the truth. Coach Chris Chester and the Hull KR board have picked up the pieces and really worked hard to refresh the roster for 2015. So much so, that I don't mind eating my words. In have come Maurice Blair and Albert Kelly from the Gold Coast Titans and, if reports Down Under are to be believed, either one of them could rip up Super League next season. So whilst there may be a few fans who are a bit sceptical about the new Super League format, there is renewed optimism in east Hull ahead of KR's ninth Super League season. It could be their most important and exciting one yet

KEN Sio has brought an air of excitement to the Hull KR camp with his impressive performances at training. Described as being blessed with the sort of talent that can light up Super League by his new team-mate Greg Burke, the Wigan Warriors loan man is looking forward to taking the field with Sio on Sunday for Jason Netherton’s Testimonial against Halifax.

Known as a winger, having made his name with his pace and try-scoring actions at London Broncos, Dixon believes it was being a victim of circumstance which saw him pushed out wide. Rapid when given an opportunity to run, with a good side step and a safe pair of hands, Dixon's attributes make him an ideal candidate to fill a role occupied by Greg Eden, Ben Cockayne and Craig Hall last season with varying degrees of success. The Hackney-born speedster won't have it all his own way, however. Hoping to put a difficult year of injuries behind him, former Skirlaugh player Josh Guzdek is also targeting a breakthrough.

BEFORE you all start thinking I've had too much mulled wine over Christmas, why can't a Robins supporter dream of Hull KR winning the division? Okay, so I may be clutching at straws a little bit, but with arguably their best squad since arriving in Super League, who knows what Rovers will do?

New Hull KR halves have coach Craig Chester purring
HULL KR coach Chris Chester believes Terry Campese's addition to Rovers' half-back arsenal will be of massive assistance next season. After securing Albert Kelly and Maurice Blair in a double swoop from the Gold Coast Titans back in October, Rovers shocked Super League by snapping up the experienced former Canberra Raiders skipper Campese earlier this month in a huge coup. Described as an 'off-the-cuff' star, 23-year-old Kelly is expected to partner Campese in the halves – replacing the departed Travis Burns and Kris Keating – leaving Blair to possibly take to the field at centre.

Hull KR coach Chris Chester says the number of leaders at his disposal will be a massive assistance next season. It’s those experienced bodies which KR hope can bring the best out of the club’s future stars in 2015 and beyond, with confidence brimming throughout the youngsters so far in pre-season training.

RYAN Bailey is confident he can be part of an exciting pack partnership alongside Mick Weyman and Adam Walker at Hull KR. The no-nonsense former Leeds forward had been a pivotal figure in a fearsome Rhinos set-up for the past decade. Now, after moving on to pastures new from his home-town club to the KC Lightstream Stadium, Bailey is confident the KR trio can gel together and form a formidable front-row.
Rovers are also hoping Bailey can provide KR's young home-grown forwards, including Jordan Cox and James Green, with tips and tricks he's learnt along the way during his time in West Yorkshire. One of the most explosive characters in the modern era, many rival supporters have perceived Bailey as a bully-boy when it comes to voicing his opinion within the team set-up. In fact, he says it's quite the opposite as Bailey believes the ego-less changing room at the Robins is creating a strong team spirit, ahead of KR's Super League opener against his former outfit on February 8.

That's a hefty pro-Rovers post for you to put up on here. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, but it could annoy some of the locals!

Good context for next week's caning though, we need to be realistic about the challenge we face from the ripping up/lighting up/smashing down SL best squad ever with its purring smug red-track suited mastermind. Although I prefer to think of Chester sitting with a cat purring on his lap, Bond villain Style. Maybe with Gareth Westmorland on his lap rather than a cat. If this happened I fear there'd be exotic dancing and dollar bills tucked in that ludicrous V neck sweater. On second thoughts let's not go there.
