The petty disruptions caused by our normal snowfalls should be dealt with better, but once-in-two-decades events are hard to plan for unless you want to spend a lot of taxpayers cash on equipment that will gather dust for most of it's lifetime.
Your missing my point mate. We might have had the worst snow in 18 years, im not disagreeing with that. What i am saying is that we dont cope with snow full stop. I drive to York every day for work and on numerous occasions per year we have snow. Each and every time we have snow be it 3 inches or 18 inches etc we struggle as a country to deal with it. We know its going to come dont we. (in some form or other)
Same as the heat as i mentioned earlier leading to hose pipe bans etc. We know we are going to get some heat at some point, we just fail to cope with it then either.
