we had a few lapses which need sorting, as does some wasteful play in attack (some poor kicks on the 5th tackle, 2 poor drop goal attempts from Thorman etc)
but really only minor tweaks, this side is going to be very competitive with or without Lakuaki and Crocker.

Rumours abound today on that.

Yes. Mind you, they had their 2 best players available that day.

They scored a couple of fairly fortunate tries from loose bouncing balls and alike and we shouldn't have shipped 24 but to be honest we were miles the better team in all areas. Willie was outstanding - best performance I've seen from him possibly ever in a Hull shirt and 80 minutes worth of it too. Yeamo was international class today in attack and defence and overall not a bad player in the pale blue. Scored some great tries and always looked in command. Very impressive and the players deserve more plaudits than they are getting outside of the club and its fans.
I don't think its any coincidence that Manu plays much better for Hull when he has more game time, under Sharp he was on and off all game in 10min spells, where sometimes he'd be lucky to have one run. I'm not suggesting he does 80mins every week, but he has to be given time to get into a game and not spend the match walking to and from the subs bench.

I agree. I said last week that I feel we get the best out of him when he starts and is on for long periods. He takes time to get into the game, but when he does he's class.
