Its almost as if they are rabbits in the headlights. Theres no doubt in my mind as soon as these players are out of our cauldron you will get some who will shine.
You only have to look at what Sneyd is producing these days.
Sneyds form is far more to do with the players he has around him and the style of play and nothing to do with so called pressure of playing for Hull FC
Agreed, any player that folds or can’t deal with pressure or expectation to perform is in the wrong job and not the type of player any club would want.
The problem we have is we have no leaders within the playing group at all and haven’t really since Ellis retired.
You only have to look at Sneyd in 2016 when he played in a team with players like Ellis, Pritchard, Mini & Sika.
A lot of people bagged Pritchard but his no nonsense approach within the team along with the likes of Ellis, Mini & Sika drive that squad to the success at Wembley on 16. Then after he’s gone it was followed up with Ellis, Mini & Sika still driving the team on. I really do believe it was that group of players that were the biggest reason we won the cups rather than the coaching team at the time.
Our lack of leaders in the playing squad is a contributing factor to why we throw the towel in as it’s not a team just a group of individuals.
