I agree with this, but given the RFL’s current management and their trying anything different to attract fans. Am not sure they will go don that route.
I think Magic has lost its appeal. It should be scrapped for a number of reasons ( imbalance in number of games played, falling attendances, reliance on certain teams fans , the cost to the fans).
i cannot understand why the semi finals are not well attended. But as demonstrated on this thread by Sir Kev, there are rafts of fans who are happy to sit through several meaningless rounds of SL but when it comes to a knock out, showpiece occasion they cannot be bothered. What’s the point in establishing the emotional attachment if you don’t want to go to the critical games?
I appreciate we are a long way now from 20-25k attendances at Semi finals, but I’d be interested to know why so many no longer go.
