It looks more likely that they were holding off on Michaels to accommodate Kelly and the Eels offer to Frank has come out of the blue whilst he is over in Australia.

I think if Michaels was staying it would have been sorted out by now. I can't imagine a 1 year contract extension would need to much negotiating. I like Michaels and he is popular with the fans and players but if we have enough cap space we should be aiming higher. Sio would have been a brilliant signing but if Justin Carney is available he would be as well. However as he was supposed to be signing last year but the players effectively vetoed it I can't see what's changed. According to a Rovers fan Carney was going to sign for them if they'd stayed up but she has a 100% record of getting rumours wrong.

With Frank going and another 3 or 4 going, loans or otherwise with Franks 175k and the others monies we are looking at a big chunk of cap. Kelly on much reduced salary means we could be looking at potentially a marquee player.
