I welcome a healthy, hearty debate. Enjoy the Warrington game, Armavinit.
I labled you a supporter, idiotic not a fan (fanatic) for intimating we'll be going on Monday blindly, that's what fans do but still voice concerns were required. I've never intimated that free speach should be abandoned just that your attitudes to posters with a different view are idiotic and stupid, again your postings are very similar in wording and attitude to a certain poster who is absent at this time. Coincidence or conspiracy theory? Your turn.
Whilst the original post does have some merit, the OP was always going to receive a kicking due to it being posted on the back of such an emotional comeback. I myself was swept away with the euphoria until the Warrington-Widnes result came in which reminded me of the task ahead on Monday. Regardless of the extremely poor first 60 minutes we got the win, and it is this momentum we need to take into Monday's game. If we do and put in a good performance (I'd accept a defeat if we play to our potential) then I think we'll have turned the corner. If it's a submission and a good hiding, the Derby result will have been our proverbial Bread and Circuses. I think we'll show up and push Wire hard, if not hand them their first defeat of the season.

Think you missed the point of his post but really dramatic and well worded reposte, in your own individual style. Anyway back to subject matter. Yes FC were same old same old, for the first 60 but if we can find confidence from the last 20 minutes, who knows what FC will achieve. Personally, I'm going for a close and dramatic win but I'm a natural optimist and well known for it.
As I said on another thread, Radford has to discuss openly with the players and take on board what they are saying with how we need to go forward. The players need to be happy, feel comfortable with what they are doing on the pitch and feel motivated to do so otherwise they are very much less likely to do anything remotely useful with regards to playing decent/competitive rugby.
That last 20 minutes showed what we can do, Radford just has to accept that things he is doing are not working (in as an ideal way as we know it can be) and adjust so we have a balance in play that doesn't leave us open but still allows us some freedom.
He also has to find a way to instill discipline for aspects that are letting us down and putting pressure on ourselves, so far he's not done that.
Is that unrealistic, some basic man management and an understanding of what works and clearly what doesn't? I'm being realistic when I say I doubt Radford is capable of getting us to play closer to that last 20 minutes than the first 60 throughout the season. I hope he proves me wrong.
It seems obvious that Radford is by nature a cautious coach. If things aren't quite going our way his default response is get back to basics and roll your sleeves up and we'll graft our way out of trouble, rather than play our way out. I get the impression that after a few defeats he had stripped our game back to the bare bones, hoping that playing simple percentage rugby would get us a couple of wins.
This worked fine against Wakefield, albeit the game wasn't much of a spectacle. Against Rovers it didn't work one bit. Rovers completed extremely highly, kept the penalties down, defended well and were pretty clinical with their limited chances. When we abandoned plan A and started chucking the ball about we looked like we could score at any minute.
It's impossible to play all the time in the manner we did in those last 20, it could have just as easily resulted in a load of knock ons and a 30-0 win for Rovers. However Radford needs to realise that we are a far better team when left to express ourselves. There is a time and a place for 5 drives and a kick, but we need to find a better balance.

He did also say on sky "that our team need to know as a group how good they are" our confidence has been down Ellis said this & the Wakefield game showed this, but we got the 2 points, i posted it a couple of weeks ago that we just need to keep getting the 2 points & the rugby will take care of itself, that last 20 minutes against kr showed the character & the never say die attitude from the team, it will give them some inner belief & confidence will grow, I'm happy with our league position, we've just got to keep ticking away & the senior players will lead us.

And yet Radford's plan was to focus on defence and dampen the enthusiasm of the players to play attacking rugby. That utterly failed for 60 minutes until the players took responsibility away from the coach http://m.hulldailymail.co.uk/Strong-Hul ... story.html Radford even stated we played "outstanding" for 60 minutes without the ball Admit it, Radford still cannot fathom what is best for this set of players to play to the best of their abilities and if he thinks we were outstanding up until the change he's totally clueless!
