If we are keeping Lineham and Naughton would Talanoa serve us better at centre, if not where does Naughton fit in, how would Logan get the chance to gain experience, how about Lancaster who certainly showed he could at least score tries aplenty at the back end of last season.
My worry is that we still fall into the trap of signing players from the NRL etc yet not giving out kids a chance.
Who this year has being given a shot that has come through our system, no-one, I think that is very telling don't you?

Logan, Lancaster, Turgut and Abdull have all played games this year. They haven't, however, performed so well as to suggest they should hold down a regular place, with the possible exception of Lancaster (who is a winger, and we're not trying to sign one of those). I see no reason at all to not bring players in at centre and back row, in fact they are the glaring areas we need to improve and it would be lunacy to decide against recruitment in favour of our youth options on the evidence we've seen so far. You're stretching for things to criticise on this one.

Straw poll. Hands up who would rather see one of our teenage centres in the Number 4 shirt than, say, Justin Hodges?

We need some experience there. Is Logan ready to be a first choice centre? I'm not sure.

Krisnan Inu would be an interesting signing.

We've needed a big experienced centre for 8 years. I'd like one above strengthening any other position in the squad.

Straw poll, hands up who wants our much vaunted youth system to be stymied season after season due to overpaid imports?

If you can't see the importance of allowing the cream of the crop coming through to get more than the odd game especially when we have injuries when it means moving players out of position (last season was a prime example) instead of trusting to the youth system then more fool you.
If you hadn't noticed bringing in pretty much any NRL player of note will cost you a whole heap of the salary cap, and as you full well know that doesn't always turn out that great. If we can't develop our kids and give them game time as opposed to try filling X position with a huge chunk of cap then that has a detrimental effect to the rest of the team.
We have to start giving the kids opportunities, Cunningham has being squeezed so far this season, he's had a handful of games and performed well yet he's not getting enough 1st team experience so we can truly assess if he's a keeper. That Radford brought in Howarth and called him a "steal" just shows me all I need to know, completely pointless signing.
Time and again Radford has had the opportunity to get one of the younger squad members onto the pitch and even when called to the 17 has hardly had any game time, even in games we've being poor in.

If you really think the likes of Wigan & Leeds are successful because they buy in X player for X position all the time and don't allow their youth system to come through then you need to give your head a shake.

Jesus. He's given the young lads plenty of goes when possible.
Wigan for all their youth bring them in steady. Their youngsters generally have 2yrs on ours. If you think giving all the youngsters a 1st team squad number which in effect means you must go ALL season with 0 injuries as u have nothing to back up is the way to go then get ready for some rough times. Turgut for instance is gonna be be probably 2 yrs till he's physically ready for week in week out never mind if he makes it in general. So if for instance Pritchard an international player who plays in the best comp came for 2 yrs it would be about right. Generally the way most teams do it.
Radford bashing for the sake of it.
On howarth. He's all but free. Has extensive SL experience. If danny Houghton blew his knee out in the 1st game of the yr we'd just go with Cunningham for 80 every week and hope he never ever got injured? We have been pro active rather than reactive. He's not great howarth but hooker is the 1 glaring hole in the 19's. So its a signing with merit on that basis.

It's about a blend of youth and experience, Wigan and Leeds do it, why have they signed Tompkins when they have Hampshire, why did Leeds sign Cuthbertsom when they have Walters?

As I've said before from your posts it's clear that you don't go to games and you certainly haven't seen the 19s play this year, neither Logan or Lancaster are ready for a full season, they need to be eased in, with the odd exception, this is what Leeds and Wigan do, Liam Sutcliff is 20 and only really started playing regularly this year, Ash Handley is 19 a year older than Lancaster and only started playing this year.

I agree that at times Radford hasn't given a couple of players enough gametime, but I'm sure he will give the players a chance when they are ready.

Next season is a year too early for the players you have mentioned to play week on week out.

I said this season, Abdull got a chance last season as did Lancaster, but even this season how much game time have they actually had?
Turgut (touted as a future captain by the club) has played 41 minutes against Leeds as an example.

When Turgut came on against Leeds, I was suprised how small he looked, from a distance he looked about the size of a slightly less than average sized outside back.

There is no way he is physically ready for Super League beyond the odd sub appearance, it doesn't matter who the coach is.

Only player who looks physically ready is Abdull and he is getting more game time now, personally I thought he was used just right last night. Even Abdull would really cost the team if having to defend in the middle for much longer than he is presently on the field.

As for Cunningham, I'd love to be proved wrong but even with limited minutes, if he was going to be good, he'd have showed more than he has. Just not seen even glimpes of class or guile or anything with that bit extra.
