Nope, the exact opposite. They scored from a blatant double movement, just after they got a previous try from a dodgy forward pass. Second time around, the Hull fans behind the stand lost it, and in the ensuing crowd surge, the wooden advertising hoardings (that were pretending to be safety barriers) gave way, resulting in 1 broken leg, a few arrests and a brief pause in proceedings while order was restored. The only Hull arrest, if I recall, was for the aforementioned camera incident. All the other arrests were Keighley fans. The headlines the next day were full of garbage about Hull fans rioting, as we knew they would be, even though it was a load of old claptrap.
Anyway, back on topic. Whatever happened to Sharon? She had a habit of waiting until the quietest part of the game, before shouting some unprintable expletive at the top of her voice. Often, completely made-up, meaningless, expletives.
I miss the old Threepenny. Apart from the old Racist comments that people seem so fond of remembering. Glad that's changed - different times now, fortunately!
He was how can i put this........a young man with severe learning disabilities......pc enough??? (dead ringer for lee crooks he was too)
I rememeber one game he tried to ride his shiny red chopper ( a bicycle ) through threepenny stand when it was rammed to the rafters. When his route came to an end about half way line he tried to reverse it but someone had popped a brick behind his back wheel. WHOOPS A DAISY over he went. Luckily his swearing was blocked out by thousands peeing themselves laughing. MAGIC
I remember Marcus, wasn't sure at first until you mentioned he was a bungalow nut, ge gobbed at me once on my way to Boulevard library when I was about 9, kn0b.
I rarely went into threepennies and only when I was about 13, when I first started going on my own I was 10('79) I favoured standing near the speedway gates or on the little brick ledge near the corner flag. Always seemed a lot warmer in the 3d stand though(sans Pi55)

Remember the team doing a lap of honour after the championship win in 83 and there was Marcus riding round the speedway track on his chopper knocking down anyone in his path

Schofield very rarely played on Threepenny's side, maybe he got a cosier reception from the main stand
As for Barends he usually had a tropical fruit hamper waiting for him in Threepenny's

I remember going into the Threepenny stand in the late 70's early 80's when I was around 10 years old. I would stand with my Dad near the half way line and always behind us was a man everyone refered to as 'THE GOB'. He was tall and thin with long scruffy hair and i think he had a beard. He always wore a blue denim jacket with a faded Hull shirt underneath. This fella had a really deep gruff voice and always had the fans around him laughing out loud. He said the funniest things and his insults towards the opposition made me laugh even though I didn't always know what he meant. Whenever I think about the old Threepenny stand The Gob and the burning of Rovers scalves always come to mind.
The Mighty Hull FC, Carlsberg don't do rugby league clubs....but if they did..........
