Briscoe needs to be tried at his natural position, CENTRE, before long.

Injuries have meant we have played him on the wing and being able to give him match experience playing there but would love to see him at centre soon.

Many on here are once again suffering memory loss issues arent they!!
G Horne has been over the last 10 matches or so one of our stand out players, solid in defence and with decent go forward, by his own admission he would say he isnt a centre but by god he is donig a damn fine job in my opinion , i am quite sure that once the whitings etc are fit again he may not play as much but all teams need one or two who can slot in where needed to plug gaps and G Horne & Byrne are two of those for sure!! I for one and damn glad we have them both TBH.

however having calderwood ( been excellent so far this season) Briscoe and hopefully Raynor when fit again is a position I am so glad we are in for once!!
I will still say that any future cash spent by the club we should now be focussing on one thing and one thing alone ... a top class centre.

When people say about hope he can achieve his potential i dont think there is any doubt he will as unlike most young players who when they are tipped for big things tend to develop a ego or rest on their laurals anybody you speak to in the club mentions how modest and grounded Briscoe is.

Tbh...i have never been a big Raynor fan....tends to go sideways too much, you can guarantee he will sling out a daft pass and get out-jumped every match and dont think he scoring record is that hot...no long distance tries and is injury prone.....wouldnt lose sleep if he went at end of season.

On the other hand...

His ground defence is superb, his high ball defence is a actually not bad now, he scores a fair number of tries given that he plays outside a centre who is prone to not passing, he's quick on the burst, and he tales the ball up well to spell the forwards.

Overall there aren't many better IMO.

Agree about defence, high ball i disagree with.....Trys yes but most are from close, dont think he could create a try himself......i know he "tales?" the ball up but he spoils it by slinging out a bloody daft offload......overall...he is a poor version of Jason Robinson.

IMO.

Certainly going to be intresting when he is fit, especially if Briscoe carries on his early season form.

He will have to wait until one is injured or out of form.
