My point was we should be signing players of that class not dreaming
We're far and away bigger than Salford and london
We are bigger, yes , but Salford have certainly delivered in the last few seasons. whoever is the head of their recruitment would be a very shrewd signing, for any other SL team. He has the same ability to unearth gems, as Motu Tony had . I think it is only a matter of time before we lose Salford, which is a great shame, but just shows how hard times are for all Rugby League teams, except Rovers, who would be in the same mess but for Hudgell and more latterly Lakin. We'd have gone too, but for AP and I reckon that was a close call, with covid, so any signings we make now will have had all the due diligence and process followed. Simply put, we cannot afford to get it wrong, anymore, so thank God we got Smith on board, when we did. I do wonder if Rohan Smith will be at Leeds for much longer, apparently GH sanctioned Austin's Cas loan, without his knowledge..

Who's 'sh!tting themselves' as from what I've read posted, it merely seems to be people affording their thoughts/views that they don't like the NRL clauses put in a contract, as they are entitled to do on a forum discussion, nothing more nothing less. I've commented myself that I'm not a fan of such clauses but appreciate and understand the reasons they get put in.
Talk about an over reaction and irony

The SL-era gloryhog clubs haven’t had to prioritise - they’ve had the resources to be strong across the board.
Among the clubs that have had to prioritise but have enjoyed periods of relative success, it hasn’t often been club-trained youth underpinning it. Which is part of the problem with a SL club-based development system and why you sometimes see stuff like ‘all SL clubs should be forced…’.

Think that's a very real issue in regards to the state of the game here and particularly SL the fact that there are very few teams that are genuinely self sufficient and if it wasn't for the benefactors at most of the clubs they'd all likely be out of existence. Thinks Leeds are starting to look like a basket case with GH moving Austin out without RS having a say in what would seem down as comments Austin made about GH.
I agree that whoever at Salford is the one that looks after their recruitment has and is doing a fantastic job. Hopefully it wont come to the point that Salford fall by the wayside as they've come such a long way since Koukash departed.

I’d expect every ambitious Nrl player that comes to SL will have a release clause. TS was relaxed about it with Clifford and we as fans should be too. I wouldn’t want Any player at FC if they didn’t want to be there. Me, personally I’m excited to see the big changes in personnel. We’ve had a somewhat stale playing group with an element of poor discipline. Thankfully that is now changing. Having watched some of the reserve games we have some good talented players coming through. Let’s enjoy it folks.
Watching the Reserves and Academy, we actually have some exciting spine players - which he haven't really had for a while - Medforth, Harman, Charles, Kemp twins, Hodgson, Moy. Some talented kids there

Sign of the times im afraid.Everything is weighted towards the player and we dont have strong enough Club Chairmen in S/L to make a stand. Maybe the clubs should add a clause for some sort of compensation paid by the player if the 1 year clause is activated. Smith said he is cool with it but makes a mockery of a contract
