If throwing out irrelevant comments about past glories, when the discussion is about present performances makes Rovers fans feel better then good luck to them.
Corrected for accuracy.
I got pummelled again in the pub Friday teatime, by dad and lad mates, originally from East Hull but are not supporters, “How many Derbies have you won at Wembley” in answer to my “it’s just a game in the league” statement. FFS

People on here and people you know are not a large proportion of KR fans. All teams have a number of supporters who say and post drivel.

How good Houghton was in his prime or what he won some years ago has absolutely nothing to do with how good he is today. Today we have two hookers that are performing to a higher standard than he is in my opinion.

A very small percentage of FC fans when they have nothing of relevance to say trot out the mantra about cup wins or other past achievements. Yes FC in the past have had more success but today we who support KR have more reason to feel optimistic about the near future than fans of FC do. That again is my opinion. It does however seem to be shared by the majority of independent commentators and fans whose opinions I am aware of,

If throwing out irrelevant comments about past glories, when the discussion is about present performances makes you feel better then good luck to you.

But… kr fans are notorious for bringing up the past…. Please also read my last sentence… apples & pears
Houghton is a completely different style hooker to litten & parcel
It is irritating when people make comparisons.
They are playing for different teams and different coaches in a different set up.

So we can never compare two players from different teams. I wonder how international coaches choose their squads.

Winning trophies is better than winning games. However, it’s not like there’s a choice available between the two and winning games is better than losing games.

It’d be nice if the derby was usually a top of the table clash but it isn’t. Getting excited about or having an interest in it (or not) as a mid-table game doesn’t change the chances of it becoming such in the future (little revenue boost aside).

Chucking away the comb won’t grow us new heads of hair.

PS. To a couple of other posters, Hull had won the previous three derbies not the previous four. Stop nicking our combs!

I’m pleased that you accept that we had a day in the sun even if you actually meant it in a derogatory way. It must be very disconcerting for you and your “big” club to be in a parlous state off the pitch and performing so badly on it. Unfortunately I know very well what both situations feel like.

It is three years since we had a home derby and I believe you have only won the last three matches not four. Still let’s not let facts get in the way of a good rant.

Apologies for pinching a game, 3 Derby wins it is. Your as guilty of generalising FC fans, as you claim me to be. My comments are not derogatory. I genuinely want you to enjoy your day in the sun. I’ve never claimed FC are a big club, quite the opposite, many fans do but I’m a realist, as you will see if you read my posts without that chip on your shoulder, slanting my views. I believe we’re headed for a relegation scrap, as you say, it may well strengthen FC but I’ll not hold my breath. I still think it’s TEDIOUS to camp out on this forum bigging up your club and players and denigrating mine. Rugby League is generally in a parlous state, every club is in debt even yours and it’s getting close to having to repay those debts, REALISM!!!!

Both teams are still miles off Saints, neither will challenge long term until they start producing top players from the academy. Rovers have improved and we have stagnated, but in reality neither are close to challenging the top teams.

Not convinced by Rovers yet, Coote is good but injury prone, their best player is leaving and they don't have any academy players that can make their 21 man squad despite injuries.

They were fortunate to sign the Bradford head of youth who poached their best academy players. He got his head turned as soon as a big club came calling, which might happen wity some players if they don't make the step up to the next level.

I know of a man with a 5-year plan, if that would be helpful? I belief it should work for any club, irrespective of their circumstance and budget, because sustained SL success is built on culture and bringing through youth rather than on money. You just have to do things ‘the right way’, apparently.

I'd take a 2 year plan, if Hodgson and Pearson planned it out and explained their reason, start phasing in young players in key positions and build for a couple of years.

Not sure other fans would have the patience and we need to keep fans coming to survive.

The majority of FC fans are patiently waiting for a run of wins.
