Constant tactics to slow down the ptb, constant offsides from defenders, play acting, players throwing their arms in the air at the slightest thing. The game is strangling itself. Watching nrl is like watching a different game. Well refereed, players playing rather than trying to cheat. What we really need is strong governance to deal with the issues which kill the game as a spectacle. I can barely be bothered to watch games now theyre so dull.
Add in the ridiculous sending offs and s8n winnings, random penalties from the match review panel and there's no wonder the game is on its ass
Agreed, especially the last bit.
After each game/round, the talking points are cards, refereeing decisions and then Mondays suspensions. See more highlights of penalties/cards than actually rugby. Game are decided by referee calls more than ever.
Season lasts too long, pretty much every team hampered by mass injuries and HIAs coupled with suspensions.

As said before the St Helens stadium cost £25 million 15 years ago. We have no existing ground or land to sell and the council would have no interest in building a ground as they already built a bigger better ground for us to play in.
Also I’m not sure it works that they’d be no overheads if we owned the stadium, quite the opposite.
We'd have been sorted if them crooked Tory scumbags had given us the 60 million for a new stadium instead of just p!ssing it up the wall at Scampton. Oh well...........

Two leagues of 14 teams the way forward for me. League1 is currently a joke with 9 teams and 6th place team making the playoffs.
Lets face it they hide behind the RFL and IMG but in the end its the owners who call the shots and in the current state of the game where not a single club is making anything like a profit they are hardly likely to forego over a 6th of their Sky money to fund an extra two teams in Super league. Although you're right if you are to have no relegation it has to be 14 teams. Indeed if they re-introduced relegation it has never worked with 12 teams and again 14 would be best.

granted he has had a better season, but all three of those are nonsense, worries me he will still be here next year.
Lanes had an okay season, he'll not get anywhere near the England squad and he probably missed 3 tackles in our last match. I genuinely think Grix is losing it, if he hasn't already.
