Always has a smug grin when interviewing him and he seems to single out the younger players when criticising them and likes to make it public but doesn’t say nothing about more experienced players do dumb things.

I don't really agree with the smug part, but I certainly don't like the way he singles out players (Balmforth especially) whilst others seem to be immune from any criticism whatsoever. He also seems like an excuse maker to me, always looks to shift the blame, calling out players for their lack of accountability whilst not having any himself. I know he's been dealt a rubbish hand, but he doesn't display many of the qualities I look for in a leader, not in public anyway, I don't know what he's like in the dressing room obviously.
I had thought he'd shown some balls and dropped fash on saturday for being generally garbage recently but then was disappointed to hear it was only because he was injured

For what it's worth my take on the appointment of Andy Last is that it is a decent and sensible one. We have a mammoth task as a club in rebuilding and have (on paper) an excellent Head Coach coming in but doesn't have the first hand knowledge of the club or SL. Last is a well respected and highly regarded Coach who ticks those boxes and should prove to be an asset to Cartwright as an assistant. In all fairness to Last he did a decent job as interim Coach after Radford was sacked, as an example he has been the only Coach to understand that to get the best out of Houghton was to spell him.
As Pete has said Lasty is black & white through & through and to come back shows the club still means a lot to him.
I, like others have mentioned wonder whether Grix will still be at the club come the start of preseason and a new broom is to be swept through. Still unsure on Grix as a Coach, he has been dropped in at the deep end so it was always a thankless task. That said his connection to Smith shortly after his sacking was understandable at the time but feel he has not learned and still is very much in the Smith school of thought which I think is evident in the displays we've seen and he's intimated as much about still asking him for advice.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
