Think we know that the RFLs decision will hinge on today’s result. If Leeds win or lose by less than 6 and stay ahead then most likely be top 5 play off. If Leeds get well beaten by Wakey and end up dropping below us then it will be top 6.
Will the decision by AP, AL & the players to step up and play Leeds for the good of the game bite us hard or will the RFL see some worth in that in their decision?

It's Super League that's making the decision, not the RFL.
As far as Catalans are concerned, I think Matthew Shaw of Total RL made a very valid point:
Quote:The integrity of this year’s competition was hanging by a thread already. Catalans, as an example, have only played four of a possible eight fixtures against the other teams currently in the top five and have only managed one win, which came against a Leeds Rhinos side that had made 15 changes and handed out five debuts ahead of their Challenge Cup semi-final with Wigan.
Yet the Dragons currently occupy a top-four spot due to the win percentage system which has seen them pick up six of their eight wins against teams currently in the bottom four of Super League.

They can find another ground if there’s any hanky panky

Think one of the intriguing parts of any decision for me though is what to do with Catalans. If the season ends today then they clearly can’t make the number of games required. Also it s a very i level playing field when they’ve not played the top teams either. Plus they managed to avoid us and Warrington due to covid reasons but other teams suffered covid issues yet still managed to put teams out.

The whole club was forced into shutdown (same as us early on), so they simply could not play.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Not saying they weren’t but other clubs have had to play with players missing due to Covid issues and in doing so it’s impacted on results. Perfect example is us stepping up against Leeds when we had a number of players missing, Wakey another that have been hit but still played with seriously weakened 17 so results were impacted.
So how do you say who should and shouldn’t be in the play offs? Maybe they should let everyone in with the team at the top getting a by in the first round. Then maybe do 1 v 10, 2 v 9, 3 v 8 etc so on with the highest placed teams playing the lowest placed as the rounds move on.

But you clearly did.

‘Clearly’ No not quite but read it however you want.
What I was saying was they managed to avoid playing both us & Warrington due to Covid where as other teams have suffered with players missing due to covid but still put teams out, that has massively impacted results and seem lopsided games. I’m not saying Catalans could have done anything about it either before you imply I was. They have also been affected by possibly not being able to fulfil the minimum number of fixtures.
So what is a fair way to finish the season early and start playoffs and just who makes up the teams in the extended play off?
