On sl show,Scott said that gaz had a deal to cover while he was out - so I figure that to be 3 games of which Friday is the last. Bonus that Scottie now clear to play.
So I suggest he has signed a short term contract at reasonable rates which has been smart & fair all round.
Moving forward u have to say that you would want gaz available to play rest of season, but impact on salary cap might hurt us ?
Certainly should extend until josh or Chris back. Message to younger guys & Tommo is they need to step up to force their way into starting 17 on merit.
FWIW I think masi already has & Lewis won’t be long !

Rather than Ellis playing week in week out it would make sense to wrap him in cotton wool and just bring him out when we need him. Either because of big players being out again, or for important games where his leadership could make all the difference. He can train with the team and play the odd reserves match to keep his hand in. I don't know what the plan in, but that would be my approach.

I'm interested to know how he fits in the cap, surely his wage as a coach isn't counted, but if it isn't, then every team would have players listed as coaches?
