Why should over 60s (especially those still in work) get in to games for less money than other adults?
Where did I say over 60's??? The old age pension is paid, as of now to men over 65 and women at between 60 & 65 as its gradually changing. I assume you mean over 60's for when the pension age for all women was 60? And if he can't work out why pensioners on a fixed income of £125.95 a week shouldn't get a concession then I'm not explaining it to him.

Is it because clubs value their seniors, and rewarding them for all the heartbreak they have endured
Or perhaps the gold watch syndrome for services rendered, or is it simply good business, a purely fiscal thing, as they say age is just a number, but like it not “come on you Ull” you have to wait till your 60 for the black & white discount, or if you support a certain other club in Hull, you must wear your ball and chain a further five years.

No, I was asking you why over 60s (especially the ones who have yet to retire) should be able to get into games for less money than other adults?
You called him 'clueless' for not agreeing with the policy.

I didn't say 60, I said OAP's. And he is clueless if he doesn't realise how low the Old Age Pension is.

Do you think people over 60 still in work (or for that matter those who have taken early retirement) should get a discount?[/quotIt's like the winter fuel allowance, you still get it even if you're a millionaire!

I think Old Age Pensioners should get a concession. I suggest you read my previous posts which I've explained what age group are OAP's.

Concessions are age related, not income related which is where the issue of whether an individual deserves it or not is completely irrelevant. The standard pensioner earns very little, which is why the overall concession discounts are very helpful and gratefully received. However, as throughout working age life, there are always going to be pensioners that have savings/private pensions/investments etc that will mean that along with their probably mortgage free households, are actually very comfortable in retirement. There is absolutely no way that general concessions can be means tested, companies simply don't have the resources for that, therefore like it or not, OAP concessions are here to stay. I do agree with an above mentioned point though, in that they shouldn't be available until they are at state pension age.
