Average attendance so far for league games (including Super 8s) is down by just 2 on last season. Very disappointing. Still up a bit on 2014. Not helped this year by the derby attendance being 3000 down on 2015. Look like the Warrington game won't now be a LLS showdown and could even be a dead rubber which will clearly adversly affect the attendance.
Obviously the average would drop a few hundred next season should Rovers be relegated.

You're right, it's very disappointing. There are maybe some points of mitigation, like you say Rovers fans avoiding the derby, ticketing awkwardness, the fact all our Super 8s games are on tv. However it's a concern that the lapsed fanbase has failed to respond to our best season in decades. Financially there will be welcome compensation for our success on the pitch but the acid test is season pass sales for 2017. I'd be getting the launch done asap.

Re the disappointing KCom Derby attendance, I still believe personally that the Magic and friendly games have destroyed a lot of the spark, meaning and occasion of the two 'real' derbies. Greed by both clubs and the RFL has led to complete overkill. If Rovers survive, IMO the Magic 'derby' and pre-season friendly should be binned. Halving the four games to two would result in 20,000+ back at the KCom at Easter I'm sure.

Agree 100%. Plus by the time we get to Good Friday it will have been 2 years since Rovers won a competitive Derby so you might turn up for once.

Worth pointing out that Warrington's average attendance is lower than our's despite them having Wigan, Saints and Widnes closer to them than we are to Gilberdyke. Three Cup wins and a couple of Grand Final apperances haven't given them a significant boost in support. The population of the Warrington area isn't that much lower than Hull.
The only club regularly getting very good attendances is Leeds who play in a city with a population of 760,000. Clearly sustained success for them has helped keep the attendances high.
The problem clubs have, including Hull, is that once people get out of the habit of going to games it's very hard to get them back.

Once people stop going it's really difficult to get them back. They find other things to do and with most of your games being on TV the incentive to save £20+ outweighs going, especially as a family will have forked out around £500 to go to Wembley.
I would have thought pass sales will be better next year. RL has lost a lot of interest of late (that might be in my head cos we've been rubbish) but there seems a lot of apathy generally in the game.

If these so called supporters backed the club it could relally help us kick on.
Id like my work pattern changing bk so I can attend such a big game but I cant so that must make me a so calls supporter then.Id find out peoples reasons before coming on here.

I doubt Dave meant that for EVERY supporter who has stopped going. Obviously some cannot make it for genuine reasons but there will be many who can make it but choose not to.
