Others sign a Marquee player on A MILLION with an agreement the next two years after he gets 50,000 the next year same again another Marquee player ,year 3 same again .
Now have 3 star players and played by the rules .
While the other 3 mentioned clubs are struggling to pay there one.
Its not that long ago Wigan had half Tompkins wages paid by the RL to keep him here [not worked long]

I cant Believe the RFL would let this happen (Actually you never know) but surely for this to work, they'd have to be some rules, would it be so ridiculous to say, You sign a marquee player on a 3 year contract, you pay him over the 3 years in equal amounts per year! that's your marquee player, end off.

Sad day for the game imo. We will go back to the old days where the rich clubs will pull away from the others who can't afford. Salary cap was doing its job this will just ruin what it was designed for

The NRL cap is £3.4m next year with plenty of rules allowing extra payments on top. RU has a £4.76m cap plus a Marquee signing.

We're miles behind unless serious monies come from Mr Koukash and others.

Exactly why something needed to be done, even a 3.4m cap means the aussies cant have to many superstars earning 500k plus
