If the results were good , if Agar was , lets say , more media friendly ( could speak English etc) then Rule could be left to do the jobs he should be doing and is good at. Morgan does most of the spin and media work at KR. I can't see that keeping Agar is anything to do with Rule , the board yes but not Rule on his own. It doesn't really matter what he thinks , what can he do slag him off? It's a fait accompli , we're down a blind alley , we've no choice but to keep Agar now or at best end up with Sharp instead. The Board got it wrong when they sacked Sharp P , they did then what we want them to do now and bow to fan pressure to do "something". They should have waited. They shouldn't have appointed Agar. I find it difficult to believe anything Rule says at the moment and bet he does too but unless he joins the Agar out brigade he's got to back him. He's part of the problem in that he was part of the process that got us to where we are but until we get a presentable coach and a squad pulling together he's frankly p1ssing in the wind.
Interesting perspective on Rule's position, Ian P also. However, if it is indeed the case that he had no part in Agar's appointment and has no power to sack him then he has simply accepted that it is part of his remit to be a 'lightening conductor' for the wrath of fans. Thus by being prepared to continually back Agar in the press and on the radio he deserves the flack that he gets for this aswell as the damage to fans perceptions of his intelligence and ability to do his job. I accept of course that he's in a good, highly paid job and it's understandable that he doesn't want to lose it and therefore has to tow the party line, but as a consequence of this he has to accept the resulting criticism.

Yes, 08 was not looking good and he had 'lost the dressing room' but he like Agar had the Franchise safety blanket also so we wouldnt of being relegated last year. We played better rugby under Sharp, though I admit it still wasnt great. It just seems like one rule for one and one for another...pardon the pun
I think the board have realised that they probably got rid of Kear and Sharp too hastily...so are deciding to give time to the coach that really doesn't deserve it in a bid for stability.
Whilst i was in favour of Sharp going (I think he had really ran out of ideas and physically appeared drained and stressed) the rugby we thought was bad then was better than 2009 has been
this clubs got so bad that i'm getting misty eyed for the inconsistent days of Kear, missing the playoffs cos of salary cap breach in 2003, heck at least 1999 had the stress and drama of possibly going down and going bust. This season is just dead rubber all the way now.

Another donut in sharp
Fair point, it's one of my biggest fears that if Agar does get the boot they'll only install J Sharp, but I don't think that's a valid reason to accept Agar staying!
