Apart from our frustrating one man rugby and putting in predicatable and repeatitive kicks, I thought out go forward was ok, we made good meters for much of the game. But Widnes walked through our defensive line at times, with plenty of missed tackles.

To give Widnes their credit as well. Their PTB was electric at times, certainly up there with the best in terms of speed, and they came with a die high attitude that I think a lot of teams would have struggled with. Clearly they have lots of injuries but even still I think a few could be excused of under estimating them.

Most teams seem to get a quick PTB against us this season because we're not dominating the ruck. If we're not significantly better this Thursday we'll cop a hammering

Widnes pitch is conducive to a quick PTB and they are clearly more used to it than we are.

Personally I think many comment about are performance are a little exaggerated on this thread. We are not the finished article by any means yet we scored 7 tries away from home is what ended up a comfortable victory.

We have players set to return who would firm up the defense in Manu and Mini. We have a stand off who is playing with an hammy issue and our best Centre this season in Carlos never made the pitch. Not only did we miss his attacking prowess but we are instantly down to three subs. A Fit Carlos playing and we breach 50 by some distance.

Your post is made up of a lot of ifs buts and maybes and supposition on your part.

How can we not be the finished article yet?
We have had 2 succesful seasons thus far and a nucleus of a unchanged squad so what is it we are still waiting for?

Yes we scored 7 tries but it wasn't a comfortable victory by any means. Think the score line flattered us we only really put the game to bed towards the end.
Widness were down in squad quality and interchanges.
And to say we would breach 50 is a ridiculous quote as we will never know due to all the variables.
I don't think the negative comments about our performances are exagerated.
We are static, pedestrian and laboured at times and have not dominated a full game this season so far.
Unless we up our intensity and speed to the levels we know we can compete at then Thursday will be a very 1 sided affair.

Your opinion, my opinion. They are both going to have ifs buts and maybes in. It would be a pointless discussion if there was no wriggle room in it.

The last two season have been great, but we have not reached he GF and we are not currently playing with our first choice 17 due to injuries, hence we are not th finished article.

Given the way Griffin do Connor did a number on their opponents, it’s my opinion that Carlos would have provided more strike power. Personally I don’t think it’s ridiculous to suggest we may have scored two more tries in that game.

You end with a fairly big if but or maybe yourself regarding next thursdays game. You may be right, it t the moment the display Leeds put in on Friday, they would have to up their game as well.

I agree everyone's opinion is different and no less valid.
Leeds played a higher quality of opponent to ourselves so to up their game for Thursday might not be as great an effort for them unlike what is required by us to attain the same level.

agreed, FC need to step up two gears and play an attacking game that doesn't just consist of sling it along the line or kick it to the same wing.

Our forwards need to step up too, fall off tackles like we did at Saints and it will be a long night. As has been said, it's time to play to our potential.

Talking about kicking to the same wing why when we play Leeds does Sneyd continually kick to Ryan Hall.If there is one player who is good in the air and you dont want running at you its Ryan Hall.
He should kick off to the full back and last tackle options if we dont run the ball should be kicking to Briscoe or in goal to force a dropout but not to Hall.
I am really surprised the coaching staff or the team captain havnt told him about this.

I agree, but every game we seem to be back to the Richard Horne school of kick it straight to the best catcher, I don't remember seeing a grubber kick from us so far (I may be wrong), we just don't have the pack dominating. We seriously miss Ellis for leadership and effort. Houghton is good, but he isn't a Captain.

At least we vary our kick offs and don't kick to exactly the same spot every time
