Thought Brown was particularly disappointing tonight, Hoy and Smith seemed to work better as a pairing Houghton failed his head test so Balmforth has to come in next week. Without Cator or Fash I’d probably move Brown to 13. Will we see Gardiner and Staveley in the 17 with the likely suspensions to Pele & Sao.
Thought Ashworth, Martin & Sao showed up well other than that thought it was pretty poor. If Herman & Franklin can’t keep the discipline then we’re in even bigger trouble.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Well I was positive before the season started but have to say the doom and gloom posters on here were right. Thought our pack would match them but they bossed us. Hard to single out the backs as we had little go forward. Houghton easily man of the match for us which all things considered is depressing. Passive defence and lack of coordination is still there despite the change in personnel. Thought kr were nothing special either. Against 12 & 11 with lion share of possession they should have put 40 on us.

We're in for a long old season, looked absolutely clueless in attack and effort only gets you so far. And Trueman aside (who is injured often) where is the creative spark coming from?

As the saying goes, nothing is ever won in round one, but bloody hell, we are in some deep trouble if that is going to set the tone for our season.
Our discipline has been a shambles for years now, and here we are, with a whole turnover of players, and we still have the same results?
The Pele red is unforgivable. A great initial hit spoilt by a terrible swing, he’ll be looking at a hefty ban thanks to Fozzard and co.
Two games on the bounce we have been nilled, it has to be ringing alarm bells even at this early stage, with Truman not back till May something really needs to happen.
Defence, okay in parts, but still so sloppy in others, there’s talk about Smiths tackling techniques he’s tried to implement, is it just too much?
The worst thing is that Rovers weren’t that much better either, barely got out of 2nd gear and could’ve ended up with 30+
Deflated is the word I feel, which isn’t how I should feel at the start of having the game/club i love back. We’re going to be doing it tough on numbers at what will be an excited Warrington, not holding my breath for a result.

I thought Ligi was good. He gives me the slightest hope that our back row isn't as weak as I originally thought.
Whilst most will only look at Pele's second effort in his send-off tackle, his first effort was a beauty. Absolutely smashed Minchella to the ground
Listen, we're a bottom half of the table team right now. That's were we are. Tonight was one game and I understand that losing a Derby is emotional, but this season is about trying to make strides to make improvements from where we were last season.
We had a lot of adversity go against us tonight and Rovers did a professional job on us.
We're not gonna chllenge for silverware this season, we can just hope to try and improve on a week to week basis and hopefully unearth some new talents to come through from the club system.
