For me, this is quite frankly exactly the right thing to do every time you can't condone that sort of stuff and we shouldn't have in the past, players have to appreciate the responsibility participating in professional sport carries. I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to get out of Aus to avoid facing up to it but anyway if this is true you wonder how he would have got a visa anyway. As for Myler well Ive spoken to several folks at the club both on the playing and backroom side of things and the word most often used is ruthless; after what has gone before I quite like that!
I agree this may well be the influence Cartwright and his ethos on being a RL pro which if so it's something we have lacked in a Coach for quite some time, one that has strict standards that players are not just expected to meet but will meet.
Wonder if Hardaker may be an option we look at in his old position of FB if Walker is moving on? I wouldn't be against using Hardaker as FB if we bring in a quality centre. All depends on the Walker situation.
It would seem that the club and coach are going to be the ones in charge moving forward instead of the playing group
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I think it shows mylers naivety in the role as well, and will probably take a bit more time on due diligence moving forward. Maybe too be expected.
Shouldn’t bow to the pressure of people wanting good news or a 6pm announcement and rush these things through as you can and have end up with egg on your face as a club, just to appease the instant gratification supporters .
Not sure Myler can be blamed, most clubs announce players before getting a visa. No way the club could know unless it's in the public, you can't exactly ring the local police and ask them if he has a criminal record. Blame has to be totally with Stewert, doing the incident and possible not telling the club.
Going down the PNG route again , If the club want to add some pace into the back line .There's an absolute speedster playing in the PNG league called Bartholomew Evi . Only 21 and would come a lot cheaper than someone from Aus .

We can't ve using an overseas quota place on someone who plays in a local PNG league.

I didn’t think it would happen for us but I’d be disappointed if he ended up joining Salford. Salford are a club we should be targeting to catch on the field and this will make them stronger, especially if we fund it with a move for Lafai.

We held no talks with Sullivan according to reports.

Sullivan is a massive gamble, not sure he wants to come to SL, if he does well he will be straight back to the NRL. Probably worth a risk as alot of his salary will be paid by Westd for the first year.

He can certainly shift that lad, using a quota place on him though would be questionable.
