it is said ,that it is hard to break bad habits, but that is 2 games now were we have been well in control and got to the last 20 minutes only to let the the bad habit strike once again ,as last year and let the opposition score a couple of easy tries.it must be nipped in the bud as soon as possible.other than that, great game to watch, well worth the journey from jockland.malc,i`ve sent you a pm.george.
born in airlie str,1939.german landmine that fell on boulevard, also blew up half of our house.thats why i dont like germans.not because they blew our house and boulevard up,but because the gerry pillock was aiming for craven park.

I felt that even before Shaul's try we had lost our shape. It was almost like things were too easy and we went a little every man for himself rather than sticking to the things that we have been doing in training. This happens often in games against lower league opposition. You get to the point where you feel you can score at will and go away from the things that got you to that position. When Salford finally started taking the game to us we struggled to respond because we were mentally already in the showers. That we had a makeshift partnership on the right wing and were also without Manu also really affected us I think, but it doesn't really matter.
I thought for a first hit out Talanoa was outstanding, and he will score bag fulls of trys outside Tuimavave. Bowden was the pick of the props with Green not too far behind. This was the most pleasing thing for me. Thompson did enough to keep his spot. Pritchard is going to be a firm fan favourite, but for me the pick of the debuts was Manu. Doesnt give an inch with out without the ball. When him and Ellis are on the field together there will be some sore bodies in the opposition.
Yeh tottally agree , manu was outstanding, loved how aggresive he was. Dissapointing last 20, but forgivable, thought the atmosohere was a little dissapointing to imo

I dont want to be critical as we were really impressive, but complacency needs nipping in the bud now. The crowd died down and it ended quietly.

That's what they told me but hey, they must have gotten mistaken. I guess they we're close though but i'll try and be less positive next time just for you.

Last 20 was a disappointing but I'll settle for having game won within the first 60. I remember agar days were we would be within 6-8 points of every team but never look like scoring but hey we was in the arm wrestle. I think if game had been closer last 20 doesn't happen. As for atmosphere I thought it was good during the warm up (long time since i've heard singing during it) and excellent during game. Yes like team died off but if big frank had scored in last minute place would of gone mental and the people moaning on here about a 42-20 victory with some fantastic rugby played after years of gash would maybe be a little bit happier, then again.
Well the boys delivered, All 17 Airlie Birds showed they can perform, even though it was our first real hit out. We continue in the right direction and we should build on that attendance for the next home game. After the Shaul try you could see the tight defensive line start to unravel a bit but lets be fair about it, Salford had just been mullered for 60 mins, so much so that I was impressed with the way they had the heart to come back. Agree with Threepennystander.... a tighter game and its a different finish. We may not come back with anything from Catalan, but we all know we will go close, thats a nice feeling to have. Even after 1 SL game the stay aways must be starting to think that something much much better is on show.
