If it’s racism or homophobia you’ll be seeing a lot more than 8 games in this day and age, Ezra mam incident got 10 games and a hefty fine, all dependant on context
It feels like sacrilege to say, but we have to drop Houghton. He stalls all offensive play and we never get anything going around the ruck.
The modern hooker is essentially a halfback that can tackle. It's not all on him as our play static and there are no options but he doesn't even have the running game anymore. An absolute club legend, but it's a season too far.
I agree with Bonaire, I think it was, in that our back line has no strike. I'll omit Martin from that generalisation. I actually think he's physically there and should be a starting winger next season.
Ese is great signing. I actually felt sorry for him.
Grix is a no for me. Absolutely not what we need where we are at. I hope the club drop their primary desire for SL experience so we can shop in a bigger pool and get someone pronto.
I honestly feel sorry for you all. I just don’t see a way out when you are signing the likes of Hardaker. It’s as if the club has just given up. For years you were on the cusp of being the 3rd big club with saints and wigan.
Someone asked if we had hit rock bottom a few pages back? You'd like to think so but I think that will actually come in the next few days when we learn what the on report incident was. Last thing we need right now is a player copping a ban for a derogatory slur of some kind (although whoever it is will deserve everything they get if they are guilty).
We were well beaten by a part time team today. And well done London because they deserved that. They looked so much better organised than we did, had a game plan, played as a team, and simply wanted it more. You would genuinely think that it was us that are the part time team. And we might as well be. I'm not even sure they even deserve to be called the word "team" right now. All those improvements we had been seeing since Grix took over, all those slight changes we'd seen in attitude, defence etc... the stuff suggesting we were maybe, just maybe, turning a corner... well, none of it was on show today. That was as bad as anything we were serving up under Tony Smith. Maybe even worse.
If Grix had any hope of getting the job permanantly, he needed a win today. Feels like the players threw him under the bus a bit as they are prone to do. And until we get to the bottom of why they constantly do this, they'll continue to do this. Big job on Myler's hands to turn this around. It certainly won't happen overnight. No wonder he was talking about a seven year plan the other day!

I don’t know at all, so pure speculation, but I think it was Herman’s reaction to the ball steal in the first half which was given as a knock on. Got the impression he said something.

Same lack of intensity in defence in the centres too.
Jordan Lane also going through the motions, moping then having petulant brainfarts.
Swap those 4 out we improve alot,
I do think a lot of the issues today were down to the poor & slow distribution from Houghton at dummy half. This was compounded by Grix not taking any action and leaving Houghton to put Charles under too much pressure. Sure the kid made some mistakes today but Christ almighty Houghton played Charles in to so much trouble today. His slow distribution meant the London defence were on top of Charles as he got the ball in most cases. Cant believe Grix was happy to allow this to continue. If this was an audition for the job then Grix for me failed considerably today.
Think Charles and Martin are good enough and able as players but the so called experienced players aren’t helping them at all and almost hanging them out to dry
Sadly as black & white Houghton may be he is finished and just does not appear to have the heart needed anymore and he should call it a day.
Ese’ese is head & shoulders above anything in the team currently but other than Charles & Martin and getting more mileage in Trueman there’s not much else to be positive about.
It was clear from the first 10 mins what London were going to do and yet we did not make any change to counter London game plan/tactics, so in inevitably became just a matter of time.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
