hard to believe it wasn`t a full house judging by the volume of noise.had to turn my volume right up to hear what the commentators were saying.but a good win for the team.[/quote
Think the tannoy guy said 9,300 EY, after the last two offerings, this had a great atmosphere. Fash Ligy and JB outstanding. Don’t understand these thirty yard passes from Jake to Darnel when receiving the ball on our own line though. We weren’t perfect by any means, but it felt like massive pressure was lifted at the end, thoroughly enjoyable, and two valuable points in a season the trap door could capture an established team.

This^^^^^ I think FC have been prevented from taking quick taps on several occasions this season. Both Swift and Macintosh have taken the ball in goal, ran to the 20, ref stopped them taking the tap because opposition defence not set, also at least 2 occasions at penalties. Same old inconsistency, twice on Friday, Macintosh adjudged to have knocked on when the ball went clearly backwards and yesterday, Gale pinged for not playing the ball correctly, when stood on his feet. Wonder if that’s why Referee Smith gave the on field decision as a try. No one has mentioned Evans head high, I can see him being cited? So Taylor’s back next week, no match fitness and we lose Fash and possibly Evans?
I mentioned Connor’s long passes yesterday and they’ve stood out for a while. When the ball’s obviously going to Connor, why on earth Macintosh doesn’t move inside to take the ball, I don’t understand. By the time it’s in his hands the defence is on him.

For me we got out of jail by the skin of our teeth but 2pts is 2pts and I'll take them however they come. For me it was two teams in very poor form and low on confidence which showed. As many have said our last tackle plays are awful and far too many times we look as though we don't have any idea come the last play in the set. We did all we could in effort to win the game yet we also did the opposite to give the game away the Clarke try being one that really is inexcusable on all levels as every one turned their back to the play and just shows that we all too often switch off in games. Though McIntosh was unfortunate with the dropped ball but the 3rd try where he jammed in again was a poor one to concede. The effort yesterday couldn't be faulted but the application and execution is still off by some way, at time there were some decent things the Lane off load to Shaul being one highlight. We are very disjointed and clunky with little fluency in attack and our support play was lacking as a number of occasions players made a break/bust a tackle and looked to make an off load but no one was backing up which again is a sign to not being switched on or fully focused. For all the criticism Johnstones had I thought he did well so deserves credit, whilst not being dynamic he was solid defensively but he isn't a 9 that will make a break and Clarke showed what a difference a 9 with a bit of speed and guile can make. The long passes when Connor has received the ball are also losing us metres as by the time the ball has been released and caught the oppostion are on top of whoever has received it, so Connor needs to either run the ball back himself to gain field position or the backs need to get an awful lot closer when the kicks been put in.
Still an awful lot to work on and improve.
As for Kendall I thought he was generally poor all round and for both sides with a number of decisions, I also can not fathom out the difference in regards the way he gives 6 again as he seemed quite lenient with Wire slowing us down with hands on the ball and laying on etc yet trigger happy with us.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
It was a much improved performance from what we have seen in recent weeks. A gutsy effort given the short turnaround. Sure we had some luck but you take it when it goes for you, Fash and Carlos stood out for me.
Feel like a mention has to go to Jordan Johnstone too, he cops a lot of stick from supporters but he gives it everything for the shirt. His distribution for the most part was quick and accurate and it helped speed us up in attack, a bit of a contrast to good friday!
also think Evans is slowly but surely improving on his game, fingers crossed we see more of him in the coming weeks.

I think this was a factor. He knew he'd screwed up badly on Gale. That said, Kendal circled around the back of the tackle to see the grounding from a completely different angle to the Sky cameras. He was visibly happy with what he saw. 76.20 on the Sky coverage.

Personally think Evans is coming along fine, we just need to get more minutes out of him. He averaged 9 metres pet carry yesterday which is not bad at all. He also doesn't hide in defence, gets through plenty of work.

Why does Connor feel the need to make these extraordinarily long passes instead of taking it up himself? It wastes so much time. Is he scared of being tackled?

Agree with this!
Yes the sin bin of Currie was very harsh and the winning try 50/50.
But he seemed to let them do as they like in the tackle and slow us down. Some clear flops went unpunished and yet when we did similar he couldn’t wait to punish us.
Because of this they were playing the ball far quicker than us and at times were able to get on a roll. A chance we were never given?

Agreed.
Think people expect too much of a guy who has barely played for over 6 months.
Assuming he isn’t banned again then judge him properly in about a months time.
