A win was the most important thing tonight. They rested a few Monday but to counter that they were down on interchanges. Scrappy game not helped at all by shocking policing of the 10 by Silverwood.
Moving on to Sheffield I'd definitely look to rest Minichiello & Pryce by bringing in Abdull & Turgut. Not sure we have much more movement than that.
We desperately needed those 2 points tonight so job done.
Defended well I thought on the whole but our last tackle plays were shambolic. I lost count of the number of 20 metre restarts they got. houghton at fault on a few by taking the wrong option on the final tackle. We looked much better when cunningham came on. Difficult to be too critical though after a tough easter period with a few important players out. I thought paea was excellent again tonight

Two hookers on the bench and we still play Houghton for 60 minutes without a break. Same with Sa, hasn't played for a few weeks, but us played for too long and starts to looked tired.

Good, solid and deserved win. Best sliding defence I've seen from us in a long time - despite being a side that that use width Widnes never got around us really. Even more surprising given they must have been much fresher than us. Shame we couldn't convert at least one of the breaks we made down our right but all in all, especially with the joke decisions, a good two points. Plenty to work on as ever but our right side in particular looked decent.

Thought Michaels went OK - at least as good as Yeaman. His shirt to lose IMO.
