I remember an article where Hudge said he cannot keep pumping the amounts he does into rovers, i think this shows in their recruitment. It looks like hes steadily investing less and less every year.

The thing is though a team of average talent but enthusiastic players can be made into a solid team by a good coach.

Look at how Melbourne have lost the likes of Cronk and Slater but are as consistently good as ever thanks to the alchemy of Craig Bellamy.

It helps when the Storm replace world class players with potential world class players who’s trained every day with the players they’ll be replacing.

Rovers signings and the squad they’ll have next year has championship all over it. No doubt they’ll have a couple of shock wins against the top teams but apart from that I have no doubt Rovers will go down.

a good few teams havent got cash to throw around and lang park makes a decent point they rely on the coaching staff to get them through our recruitement was good enough to take 4 points of your superstars this year throwing cash around dosent guarantee anything ,no trophys next year and a few will be chuckling at you

ATEOTD we shot ourselves in the foot again and got what we deserved. If we'd have held on to the ball a little more during the 80 mins we'd have got the win. The high number of handling errors (for a dry night) cost us massively last night as we turned the ball over far too many times & in critical areas of the field, just too many brain farts.

Still think its a mistake not having Connor in the centres from the off with Griffin 2nd row especially when missing Sika then Bowden & Paea. Plus we gave Sneyd no protection last night when Wigan continued to target him just like Warrington did in semi.

Our attack was so flat with no movement last night and not for the first time. We also have too deep an attacking line so invariably lost 10-15M on the ptb as we were not running on to the ball so we just passed the ball backwards each time surrendering ground.

Really disappointed to be honest as even with the short turnaround we should still have won as that wasn't the reason we lost it was down to poor handling, dumb rugby at times and poor execution.

Yet again though O'Loughlin seems untouchable as the high shot on Masi should have been a minimum yellow card but as usual not a word said and a pity someone didn't flatten Isa either.
