I think the club have made a huge mistake not refreshing the forwards with Super League quality players.
A starting front row of Taylor,Bowden,Paea and Green If all are fit will hardly be a frightening prospect for our opponents.
Add an ageing injury prone second row and we will struggle to make the top eight never mind the top five.
A miscalculation by the coach to go with the same squad and possibly being too loyal to some players has left the club realising too late that it was the wrong decision and leaving very few options to strengthen.

Backwards step, Thompson isn't any better than some of the forwards who would be cheaper we have released. Dawson is a poor version of the wingers we have. Looks to me that we will have a strong reserve side, a bit worried about the first 17, can't see challenging again next year. Pearson can't come out with statements like he has and then sign these type of players, it's not fair on the fans.

How does it work salary cap wise if you have a reserve side

It makes no difference, top 25 count on the cap.
