I still believe they are. I firmly believe Hull could have sold 10k for this if the venue was correctly sized. The scarcity of tickets will put off many casual fans who may well have attended if they knew they could get a ticket.
I am aware that times have moved on, but I still remember the days of us taking 15k+ to semi finals

Tickets aren't "scarce" though, and pay on the day is becoming a thing of the past I am afraid (changed security rules etc.). Did you ever imagine a bag search at FC v Wakefield for instance.

I believe Hull FC asked the RFL to sell their allocation of tickets down the East and West sides. When it became clear that they were selling out rapidly, Hull FC asked them to hold back a section down the West side in order that they had more than just the North Stand seats to sell to members at the weekend.

"In fact, the days of us signing any players from across the river are over. Our fans are loyal, passionate and only interested in one club. Taking players from our nearest rivals doesn't fit in with that brief."

Sounds feasible, and good sense. I'll be surprised if anyone misses out, unless they want 10+ together and buying Wednesday.

Historically, season pass holders always got first dibs, then to a general sale. As far as I can remember, I cannot recall a pay on the day for a neutral venue game in the CC which Hull have been involved in (perhap the exception was the 1988 semi replay, only 4 days after the original game, this this was held at Elland road, plenty of room there).
I reckon there will be pubs / clubs / local RL clubs who could have organised their own buses if they knew enough tickets would be available.
Even if the tickets do not fully sell out, there is a scarcity.

What I think has been the major issue regarding the ticket availability for the SF is the total lack of any sort of clarity on the whole ticket sales situation.
1. Tickets available before Saturday inline with RFL request but not the Hull FC members allocations 2. Tickets go on sale at 10am weds in fact it was 9am so for those that tried at 10 it was an impossible task 3. Tickets for the disabled members & fans again difficult to obtain whether plenty available or not 4. Members tickets having to be bought from the Stadium on Saturday and no facilty for online sales again for members making it difficult to obtain tickets.
Whether there were tickets a plenty the issue for me is as a club Hull FC have for whatever the reasons made what should have been a fairly straight forward process of buying tickets in to a total farce and made obtaining tickets difficult.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
