Could any SL really afford him
Supply and demand. If no NRL clubs want to make an offer and he wants to continue playing Rugby League then he'll have to take what he can get.

Marshall's new manager Mario Tartak has had previous dealings with Hull FC as one of the players he manages is Frank Pritchard.

Would any SL club signing Marshall just be signing a name, I do wonder how effective (bothered) he'd be if he was coming purely because he can't get an NRL spot. His career seems on a downward spiral now and regardless of how good he once was I feel he will destabilise any club he goes to.

Cant disagree, all club needs players that WANT to be at the club they sign for not just because its the only gig they can get, which if that was the case with Marshall you wonder if he would give his all or come to SL & rip it up for a few months then when some NRL club comes sniffing again he claims he's homesickor some other issue then buggers off leaving said club in the lurch? How many times have we all seen this done in the past.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Spot on, I'd have any player that WANTS to play for the club before any overpaid journeyman. (Not saying Marshall would be, but the possibility exists)

That comment has been taken out of context, when I wrote it I meant more the idea of where he fits into Lee's plans medium to longer term, if he keeps playing like he has then all well and good.

I think we all know that all overseas players come for the money first and rightly so, but a number will fancy playing in SL and looking to extend their careers with long term contracts even if shorter term options are open to them.
Marshall just comes across as a bit of a show pony who is still living in his glory days. He's the sort who'll pull out a glorious game surrounded by a whole heap of not turning up, especially on a cold day in Feb. Think I've just described Rangi there as well. Can imagine whomever signs him will get the fans whipped into a frenzy but the proof would be if it will pay off or would he view it as beneath him.

Agree completely. That's why fans shouldn't make signings! Loads of idiots on here seemed genuinely upset at the prospect of us signing Luke Gale and similar, but the likes of him are worth 3 Rangi Chase's to any club. Personally, I wouldn't want Brough either now.
The words of fools mean nothing to one who resides in the truth.
