Just seen APs first press conference at LUFC on Calendar. What a circus. Cellino rambling on in part-English part-Italian, going outside for a smoke mid-conference and getting into a slanging match with a fan who'd blagged his way in. It made me feel a while lot better about LR's RH interview last week.

The FIRST person making a definitive statement regarding our sales (without any evidence) is the one to provide such. You can't then turn around and say prove otherwise when those counter-claims were made on the back of the original statement that didn't have any evidence to support it. All one could ask is that there is some semblance of evidence to back up what's being said, that others are sceptical doesn't put the onus on those doubters. Personally if there was ANY increase in commercial sales in the last couple of years that would indeed be an incredible achievement in a dwindling market especially given cut backs by all companies never mind local ones with smaller budgets for sponsorship. But a three fold one?

This isn't a personal thing, just a concern that we have no real experienced directors other than AP, and he's admitted he's happy for the others to more or less run the club whilst he's at LUFC. That's class. Our owner looks decidedly uncomfortable sat listening to his new boss. Mad as a box of frogs, he must be paying well or AP is just looking for a way in and the bigger picture. Who knows?

So the answer to someone claiming a positive is to ask the sceptics to provide evidence to the contrary?
Is that how you really think it really works?

Not really,
On one hand you have poster who comes on here claiming something positive about the club, suddenly people start demanding to see evidence.
Then a few posts later, people starting saying how the poor the club is at the same thing, nobody (except me and to be honest I don't care and it was more to raise a point) asks for any evidence, just takes the word of the poster.
It just seems that everyone believes anything negative about the club at the current time, but anything positive is immediately rubbished.
Without any evidence from either side, nobody can state how good or bad the current commercial side of the business is, the current financial state of the country compared to 5 years ago will certainly have had an impact on the corporate side of the club.

I agree re evidence, but come on the statement is clearly wrong. I don't need any evidence whatsoever to realise that the clubs commercial revenue has not trebled. It is not a positive statement about the club, rather misinformation.
