How do we know that we haven't caught this from a Salford player, they inhabit an area of the country with local lockdowns in place due to the number of cases, whereas we are in an area with very low infections (albeit they could be untested like the majority of the country)
The problem for me lies in the fact we are only testing weekly. It should be daily. Player A tests negative on Monday. Comes to training on Tuesday and tests positive. He is then sent home for 2 weeks to isolate before he has contact with any other players or coach. It had to be this way. We can't expect our players to be in an isolation bubble, apart from stating they travel to training and home. Their partners work, do the school/nursery run etc. So the least we can do as a sport is test daily. It looks cheap and amateurish
