I will wait until we play a proper game before I start to get too negative about anything, but I must admit alot of the excitement I had for the upcoming season has drained away rapidly. The result is irrelevant. My main concern is that despite identifying the need to score points, our only options still appear to be a kick to the corner or a bit of brute force and ignorance. And if that doesn't work we are pleading for Connor or Kelly to produce something out of nothing, and they might both be missing for the start of the year.

Hopefully we will start to look a bit slicker when we knock the rust off a bit, but it's a worry.

And since other people have mentioned it, there is no doubt in my mind that MDJ will play left wing against Rovers. It should be Miloudi or even Ratu, but I can't see it.

And who's "Rubyred1", he's certainly been around a lot longer than his account suggests. :)

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Non of this a surprise surely , did anyone really think our style of play would change , with the lack of quality signings and players been a year older , will be the same as last season. Excited for the start of the season, but not expecting a great deal from us, we have a team that could produce good rugby , just not the coach to implement it , the biggest off season signing , should of been someone to assist radford , but yeh ho, same old same old , we'll see

Head Coach Lee Radford says today’s final friendly against St Helens gave him an insight on what his side need to work on in the final weeks of pre-season, while praising the hosts for their performance.

You have to laugh
He just needed to ask the fans

We clearly just have more rust to knock off us than Wakey or Saints.
It's not the losing that bothers me just the same old same dross play we churn out. Kick to the corner or barge over 1 man rugby.
Hull2524 bangs on about it being a friendly and that is true, a chance to implement new drills/plays try something different but not us.
Saints were great bringing the ball out of back field, speed of pass pace in the centres/wings. We struggled to get out of our 40.
Dawson Jones is certainly no whipping boy but on todays performance and Saints fans laughing at us signing him I hope he is not going to be a starting winger in our 1st game.

Yes it's only a friendly but try telling that to Saints who still played with pace and enthusiasm no matter who was on the field.

We looked so laboured and slow and devoid of ideas, hardly filling me with optimism.
Dawson Jones was awful today and in my opinion should never have been signed and Langtree doesn't look big enough for SL.
I liked the look of Levy and Ratu but that's where my pre season optimism ended today.
No one wants to get on anyone's back but when we are consistently predictable it is a worry.

This was what I was worried about; continuation from the end of last season.

Sorry I didn’t get to go to the match at Saints
I have to read what I can on here and in the Mail
This was the same pre season last year I believe
Nothing exciting and then a poor season

HOW on earth can Radford change this ?

Today was the day to showcase any new styles and mentality

By all accounts it was dross

I’ve said before that Redford will be the first coach sacked/resigned this season

Name a stand after him and let’s appoint the best Aussie we can

Then the very same players will deliver the success

I have lost interest
