You pick out Westerman as if he represents all players who have plaed for England. Westerman has always rated himself more than anyone else has and this has always been his problem. If he could marry himself, I suspect he would.

Scott Taylor, Marc Sneyd and Liam watts have all spoken of how they would love to play for England and hoe it motivates them. If you told them they can no longer play for their country and they are all on settled long contracts what else do they have to motivate them to play well?

It's all well and good to say it will benefit the club but for players it is the pinnacle of their career to play for their country. Players who are snubbed may feel if they played for Wigan or Leeds or an NRL club they would have a better chance of gaining international recognition. Be careful what you wish for.

Exactly, you asked me what they would play for? SL clubs have lots of players that would never get to represent their country, but do a good job.
