The edge defence has been an issue in every game including the derby friendly. We're leaking points galore on either wing.
Talanoa was at fault for a couple of tries on Thursday. His decision making was shocking. One, he had to make a choice to approach the centre or stick on his winger (he did neither, stayed between them and left a huge hole and was gassed by the winger). The other, he was stood waiting for the ball to land from the kick and didn't try to mark anyone. He needs to learn to make a decision! He also needs to work on his finishing of tries. He's been fed a lot of good ball and is not diving in at the corner like all the other wingers are these days.
For me, I'd give Naughton a chance and have Talanoa work on these areas in a reserve game next week.

Couldn't agree more, the amount of stick Micheals has being getting is ridiculous. Let's be honest though we couldn't afford to get top quality wingers due to the salary going elsewhere in the squad but Talanoa/Naughton/Lancaster/Micheals should be sufficient for us to be competing with the best. If Logan is deemed to also to need work on his defensive game and is dropped I'd have Micheals in his place and Naughton outside Micheals. Shaul is playing extremely well right now, we need Carlos for his creativeness (though was quiet thursday) and Micheals because of his defensive qualities or Wigan will rip us apart out wide even more. I've no idea what Radford will do but if he does drop someone in the backs I just hope that it isn't Micheals.

Micheals shouldn't play centre, I don't think people are giving him stick, just that he is solid and nothing more, Talanoa is a big threat and outstanding on the first two games, so we drop him for one bad game? After round two he made made the most metres and tackle busts in SL, offers more to the team than Micheals IMO.
People don't want Micheals dropping because they think he has been poor, we are Just desperate for some pace and Talonoa has stated the season better IMO.

Sorry but I disagree, Talanoa has the benfit of having Carlos inside him as well as Pritchard on that flank & has had many more chances and really hasn't being "outstanding" . He's been good I'll grant you but too many mistakes both in attack and defence to be deemed excellent. He is no more an attacking threat than Micheals but is a much poorer defender.
And as for pace he's not quicker than Micheals either, Lancaster is probably the fastest, Naughton is more elusive and quick off the mark but not outright quicker. I never said to drop Talanoa in any case but of the two wingers Talanoa is the weaker option thus far.

I agree with you about the unfair criticism of Michaels. He works his pants off,has good defence and brings the ball out well. Several say we need pace on the wing but Michaels has pace its just that we have not seen him go 90 mtrs but when we have seen him in the clear against HKR in the friendly there are not many would catch him. Until Radford stops Logan and Pryce jumping the line we will always concede down the right and its not Michaels fault. I would Keep jack Logan at centre for the moment but can see Radford Playing Fonua at Centre when he is fit. For me Pryce is the weak link in the team.Done very little in the last two games and also his jumping out the line has cost us tries as did his missed tackle on Webster which led to the Cas wingers second try.

You're kidding yes? He was in no man's land on the 1st granted. The other was as lucky as it gets. A scrambled kick that despite having pace on it stood up perfectly for the cas man So because of a poor game. 1 of at least 6or 7 players you'd drop the leagues top or near top metre maker/tackle buster/clean breaker/carrier and our fastest play of the ball often still standing that allows the next man easier yardage. Each person can have their own opinions but I utterly do not see what people are seeing when they jump all over Talanoa for displaying the weakest parts of his game here and there and clean gloss over the strongest parts that are displayed each week. He was poor the other day like many others. Still comfortably 1of our best metre makers

totally agree cant believe some want the bin man dropping, utter madness, imo micheals is a good solid winger but imo I would like someone with a bit more pace,

So you keep saying, although not sure I fully agree, you need a bit of both. Our defence has been pretty good under Radford, but our attack poor, this year it seems the other way around.

First two games is was outstanding, did you see the gsmes, going forward for the team it's not even close look at the stats
Tackle busts 15 -3 Metres 463-172 Average gain 9.45-7.48 Clean breaks 7-1
Micheals might be quicker and more consistent, but when on his game which he has 2/3 games this year Talanoa is much more effective for the team. Naughton is quick if you haven't seen it then again I question how many games you watched last year, watch some of his try's he scored to see how quick he is.
If the rumours are true you might get your wish this weekend.
