With the amount of players we are losing, I don't think money is an issue, I'd expect we have offered more than Wigan, but he may be better staying there on less money or get a move to the NRL.



I'm amazed he hasn't got a deal there with the way he has been playing.

Depends if we are planning to spend full cap or not though. Even signing an average player on say £100k could mean the difference between a profit or a loss, and even if we slipped down the league a few places I don't think it'd impact pass sales and merchandise sales that much, we are pretty much down to the hardcore support now.



Of course id want the club to spend full cap and aim to get in the top4, but from a business point of view making cuts might be better for the club for now.

Hookem player at hooker again this afternoon for Whitehaven so I don't expect to see him feature in the halves this season. Judging BH comments from last night think it's Reynolds and gale for the foreseeable future

I think that's more to do with Whitehaven having decent halfbavks and no hookers (they also have Robb from Cas on loan), but I agree, don't see Hookem getting a chance.

Seriously? why would a player like French want to come to Hull when he is a current star at a bigger and more successful club like Wigan?

Also he could make a lot more money moving back to the NRL which is where he will go.

We do need a fast elusive French type full back but it wont be him.

Shaul is hardly the main problem we have and in all fairness even if Connor had played we would have still been well beaten.

Until this coach does something about the indiscipline this type of defeat will be regular.

When asked about the teams indiscipline all Hodgson says is its something we talk about.Dumb or what?

I doubt that he'll sign for us. It's an exciting prospect but I think this is one of those occasional rumours that seems to have legs but goes nowhere.



He's stated his desire to return to the NRL and he's 27 in January so I can't see him wanting to stay in Super League for another couple of years. More likely he'll return to the NRL at the end of the season or play one more year at Wigan with an NRL deal already sorted for 2024.



Hope I'm wrong because he'd be a fantastic signing for us.

IF Connor had played no one can say what would have happened. He’s the team’s talisman, taking the onus of creation from the dire halfbacks, we have. Why is it that everything you say is correct and anyone who has a different view is wrong. Indiscipline on the pitch really isn’t Hodgson’s fault, it’s the bloody stupid players who are guilty of bloody stupid indiscipline. He’s not dumb, it’s the bloody stupid players. I made my view on this thread and predicted our slow slide down the league because we’ve pinned everything on Connor. Reynolds and Gale are passengers, Shaull’s past it but you wanted him in the team, he’s past it but you slated Yeamo when he was in the same position. Rant over, Uber.

1) Even Hodgson said after this game Connor would have made no difference

2) Hodgson is the coach of the club and responsible for all team matters and that includes discipline on and off the pitch..Indiscipline has been a serious matter for months yet nothing has been done.All he says is its something we talk about.If the players arnt doing what he asks then drop them

3) Shaul did little wrong yesterday and i agree he is past his best but it was a better decision in my opinion and obviously the coach agreed to play Shaul at full back rather than move players around yet you criticise me for wanting him in the team.

4) Shaul is standing in for an injured player.Yeaman was cemented in the team and stole a living from the club.big difference

We've conceded the 5th most penalties so far this season.

What does seem a concern for me is the view of BH in relation to the Gale & Reynolds as according to the piece in the HDM he insists the partnership is still a work in progress

I really don’t think many would argue that on the evidence so far that’s just a fantasy. Let’s be honest these two aren’t young inexperienced players that are wet behind the ears and green. They are seasoned pros with a wealth of experience yet Ave so far delivered absolutely nothing and must be the worst HB in SL this season.
