Just thinking that if that's the case and say finances allowed if a player was available BH wanted and saw as a piece of the puzzle to improve the team significantly would it be possible to bring them in? I know it would mean paying a player for not playing any part in next season but it could make enough of a difference in terms of not fans seeing AP making changes helping to increase the % of renewed memberships after this season showing but send a message to the rest of the squad that it will not be tolerated. Its a difficult situation when there are players a coach doesn't want but cant move out so would possibly be an option.
Top 25 earners count on the cap, even if they don't play. They'd need de-registering. Could cost AP hundreds of thousands.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Thanks CCS wasn't quite sure exactly how things stood especially with the likes of Gale when at Cas being injured prior to playing a league game and not adjudged on the cap.
I think which ever path AP takes it will cost him thousands to either make the necessary changes or the fall out in reduced memberships and ticket sales from not doing so (whether able or not). Its a gamble either way to stick or twist and its a case of trying to calculate which is the biggest risk.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
There's a salary cap "dispensation" clubs can apply for when players are injured for the whole season, but not if you've played 1 game like Matty Dawson-Jones.
Season pass sales were capped at 4k(?) this year, some king of legal issue when selling more passes than there were seats at grounds with restricted capacities.

Would love to know who's actually identifying players. You hear rumours Pearson ignored advice and signed Fonua. Who's making the decisions? The coach? The chairman? Clarke?
How does it actually work at our club, do we need to employ a recruitment specialist/director of rugby ala Motu Tony again, to start laying the foundations and rebuilding.
Or has Pearson entrusted Hodgson to identify players to sign.

Not alot of transparency at the club
On Fonua Taylor had a lot of imput about bringing Fonua back and Radford always kept in touch so i guess he wouldnt keep in touch unless there was interest in bringing him back if he became available

Wasn’t it 25% of capacity up to 10,000 for professional sport. Think our season passes was capped at 5,500.
We appear to be in the same situation as Leeds were, when they binned Furner, he’d populated his team with high earning Aussies. They shipped Parcell out to Dobbins, swapped Lolohea for Rob Lui, forced Ryan Hall out but how they did it with players contracted and how much it cost, only the Hetheringtons know. It is doable but it’ll cost Adam a packet, plus it’ll still take Hodgson 2 seasons to get us firing.

Radford said he wanted Fonua and didn't want him going to Cas so told AP to get him here
The only option is offering players to clubs and offering to subsidise a percentage of wage say Fonua but we pay 20% of his wage still for a year, crap I know but one way of freeing up space etc
