The ‘if he was good enough, he’d be signed elsewhere’ argument can be used against any signing.
If he’s got a decent real world job, maybe he’s had other offers but they’ve not been worth his while. Binning off a steady job, plus part-time RL money for a one- or two-year full-time deal, initially on the fringes of a SL squad, could be a bit of a gamble. Maybe Hull were just willing to stretch a little further to make the gamble seem worthwhile.

Doesnt help that the well known names seem to be 2nd rower and we have loads of those, HDM reporting Brett Ferres and Greg Eastwood are available. Where are the impact props??

what I've seen of the bulldogs this season, eastwood comes of the bench and plays down the middle, done a decent job what ive seen. biggest concern, he didn't like it here (uk) when playing for Leeds
From 2016 team we've lost watts, ellis and fonua and replaced them with hadley, abdul, faraimo and a one legged westerman. That is a massive loss of quality. We really need 2 big forwards IMO who hit hard in attack and defence. The backs are OK when all fit and will play well off a good go forward but defensively they need some work

A bit harsh, considering how many other players have suffered injuries.
Maybe you could have lent him one??
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Yeah maybe. My point was that as sonn as he came in he got injured so added no value to the losses we'd had in personnel. Recruitment and retention has been rubbish this year IMO and needs addressing ASAP or we'll fall behind. leeds will sign some better quality, as will wigan with both wire and saints already having signed better players for next year

I was less than impressed hearing we'd signed Langtree but all the Oldham fans seem to think he'll go well in Super League. I'm quite looking forward to watching our reserves next season.
