My concern for next year with the improved personnel, is that we still don't have the ability to break sides down, unless it is with brute strength. A drop off to Manu Ma'u will be the same as a drop off to Sika Manu. Having Fonua and Connor/Carlos as centres will be negated by having Shaul as the supplier to them - big decision needs making with him

Shaul wouldn’t get into any other SL side on current form. He’s been quiet since about 2016 save a few dummy half scoots. When was the last time he even successfully supported a line break?
Unfortunately he’s Radford’s best mate.

Shaul not the problem, he does support thru the middle, repeatedly.
BUT he is the only one who does & our pack aren't blessed with offload ability, my hope is next years pack will not only be bigger & stronger but also much more skilful.
His defence was very good last night in all areas. Sadly Faraimo the weak link in defence, both under the high ball & in the frequency we concede walk ins on his wing. Not sure his decision making or those inside him ? but yesterdays try carbon copy of the two Briscoe tries at Leeds. Needs fixing !!!!
With the way Wigan were flying up why did it take us until 70 odd minutes to kick a ball through for Ratu or even Shaul to chase? They have pace, let's use it.

Because we lack intelligence were it matters. Instead of playing what's in front of them they stick to a regimented game plan. Five drives and a kick in the air.
We did have one good passage of play when we built pressure on their line. We even kicked a grubber in the in-goal and forced a dropout. Unheard of for us recently. Though we didn't score on those 3 sets Taylor barged over shortly after. No doubt in my mind that the effort expended in the previous spell of FC pressure enabled him to do that. Hopefully LR looks at the video of that and focuses training on building pressure through repeat sets and not trying to score every set when the opportunity isn't there.

Given some of the tries we have scored this season, five drives and a kick is not really how we play all the time. When coming out of your own 20 yard line, clearly you want safety first.
Given we have got some real pace in Ratu, it does surprise me its not utilised more.
