Brough certainly isn't acting or playing like a player who wants out. I suspect this is just the annual rumour mill, made worse by some particularly nasty rumours about his personal life doing the rounds. Hes been signing for you every other year since he came to hudds hasn't he? If it's what he wants then fair play- but you are going to have to pay enough that hudds can replace him with a player of better quality -and that will be costly as Thurston won't come cheap .....
But isn't Thurston going to the Lightstream as part of the 5 year plan? He'll shine in the Championship

I'm certain they won't, said all along that it's Hudds that are holding the reins, here. But we have the age-old dilemma of what to do if a player has decided he doesn't want to play for you anymore. Hang onto his shirt tails wailing "But you're contracted for another 2 years..." and stomach the fact that his heart isn't in it?
Not saying this is what has happened here as I've no idea what conversations Brough has had with Huddersfield, but rumblings have been going on for weeks and a poster upthread has heard he has been given permission to leave. It's conjecture, but as you'll know from the Brierley saga, when this sort of conjecture hangs around like a bad smell, it's usually because there's something in it.
Not sure what you mean about him coming back to Hull being a recurring rumour every couple of years, this is the first time I've heard it mooted, although it's not the first time I've heard Hull fans say they'd like to see him back, mind
As for the money, not sure anything is left in the pot from the Lineham and Westerman donations from Wire, but it may be that Pearson has these or other resources to speculate with a view to accumulation. Who knows?
Is Thurston a fair swap for Brough if Danny wants out and his heart isn't in it? Not sure on that. Would you consider Pryce plus ANOther?
Anyway, we muse only. Probably off to Mrs Brough's team of the heart, Rovers. Albert Jelly's not doing it for them for one reason or another this season.

I was told we have had the door slammed by hudds board,he wants to leave & we want him, no way we can afford him unless we pay the fee & free up the space for this current season, it's like a team coming in for Shaul Radders would do the same, the players we are offering they will not accept, AP won't break the salary cap to get him either, would be pointless, so unless a miracle happens, or broughy refuses to play & they see sense & agree a loan swap/deal, which if he did davey/baloo would just let him rot in the stand, totally gutted he would just be a great signing.

Disappointing but was always a long shot. Don't blame Hudds either with him still in MOM form right now. Pryce back in a week, so we move on.

Wouldn't need to break the cap- sign him as a marquee. You only need 100k on the cap then

But we are maxed out we would either break it or loose some players, who would still need paying off, or other teams take them on, but I imagine most squads are at full cap, doubt hudds are because of robbo & ferres, maybe kr also can't see them been at full capacity with that squad size & ability.

that's where we are at present might change but still a very long shot, possible, but not tonight probable, for the reasons outlined above. Thing is he's pretty desperate to come and we want him and he is doing what he can to make it happen but Huddersfield won't entertain him leaving!
so I guess its a case of don't be too disheartened yet but don't get too excited!!

It wouldn't be Hull FC without a good rumour would it ? I think it would be be highly unlikely that we will get Brough. Nice thought though .
